to get to on demand on directv you need a dvr with a ethernet cable plugged into it.

AT&T offers high speed and you could go satellite for your TV channels. :)

Where do you live? Comcast here is a year contract with free movie channels and all regular channels for 25.99 a month for first 6 months. If you have to cancel though, say yer moving to a place that comcast doesnt cover, they cant charge you a cancelation fee. Done it twice now =D

Dude, my wife pays double that for our local satelite provider and we have maybe 5 channels kinda worth watching...
The free meal is over get used to it, you are going to start paying what the rest of the world pays for stuff.

as someone who has worked for a major telecommunications provider, i can say without a doubt that the company doesn't give two shits what you think of them, but i'm sure you figured that out by now. however, some of the inflated charges are more legit than you might think. just some, though. around here it's either cable or verizon, and verizon's infastructure can't touch cable's in this area. therefore it would be a major downgrade for me to switch. right now i get 10 meg internet for 30 bucks (promo) and pull 13 meg on speedtests. verizon only offers 6 meg and it's 25 bucks. that's not a deal at all. cheaper isn't better if it's a lesser service.

I pay $99.99 CDN a month for phone with mutliple numbers and great long distance plan, 15 Mbps internet (unlimited download currently) and satellite TV with 26 HD channels included all from Telus.


Worth it to me.

and i pay nothing either, doesnt mean im not pissed that they try to lock u into a contract cuz they KNOW their service is NON vital and if times are hard they will be the first service to be foregone, so they decide to curb that by forcing the consumer into a bullshit contract with the intent to screw them over for at least 7 years of ruined credit if you cant afford to watch HBO one month and need to feed your kids instead

lemme just say p2p 4evr gonna go back to watching 15 terrabytes of DL'd shit buh bye xD
