I've never used papertowels, but it's obviously very popular for a reason. Moist rapid rooter does the trick every time. I grow in dwc so the rooter is its final destination anyway, no point in adding another step.

Hey man if you got confidence in what you do . I couldn't devote the attention, it would dry out on me , life is so crazy , something usually came up and bc I have a stealth grow, I need that extra time .

I use the rapid rooter, I squeeze it out , place it in a humity dome until I see it break the surface , remove the dome . Works great . I also place perilite between the tray and tray liner with a mix water and kelp . It helps with humidity, but dosent soak the cubes .
It's just what I do good luck.

I put the seeds in a moist coffee filter and into an open sandwich baggie. Then I put it all into a tortilla warmer with a CFL light bulb in a desk lamp over it for heat.

Then when I see a good taproot I plant it in a 16 ounce party cup full of ocean forest with about 20% perlite added watered in with good runoff. I also use a cut off pop bottle top without the cap to help protect them while they sprout. Little personal red cup with dome.

It's my ghetto propogator.

Plop the seed in a shot glass and put in a warm, dark place. If the seed is good, it cracks within a few hours. If it's old, it could take a few days.

Stop using paper towels years ago. To me it's just bad practice and only use the soil if growing in soil and jiffy pellets if doing hydro
