freshly planted germinated white widow seed need light?

hey i have just planted a white widow seed and am researching some things online. i have 2 23 watt 6500k cfl on it right now. some people say it needs to be dark to sprout others say its good to put lights on for 24/7 until it sprouts which is the better way??

ive always left the lights on once planted. has always worked or me.

I leave on 24 hours light too, but it can sprout in dark then you can start the light cycle if you'd like
