Fresh trimmings in my soil

Hi, it depends on how active your soil is - the more life you have down there, the quicker they'll eat everything up.
Just to give you an example, I gave my girls a drastic haircut a month ago and mulched all the leaves:

Also added 2 handsful of decaying wood I brought home from a hike in the woods.
A good half of the plant mass has already been worked into the soil a month later:

There is no danger of PM!
Yes you will have bacterial and fungal processes going on in the ground, but those are healthy ;)

How long do fresh cuttings take to decompose in your soil bins?

I topped my girls and decided to toss it on top of my living soil bin.

Do I need to worry about PM?

Oh and thanks to all the folks that helped me with the ACT brewer last week.
typically if you turn it often they'll disappear in about 3 weeks, but its all predicated on temps, soil, etc.
I use trim as the nitrogen/green inmput in my compost pile, and it's gone quicker than alfalfa meal. Goes real fast.
here's a pic of a bunch in my pile, that bigass brick

I figure since I am organic now, I don't need to find creative ways to dispose of things. Just shred and put in the bin.

Is it better to let the leaves dry so they can crumble or put them in right after trimming?

Is there a special trick for roots or stems to get them to decompose faster?

if the same thing applies as to tree leaves, it's more advantageous to use the leaves when they are fresh, apparently their nutritional content is better when composted fresh.
Orr at least that's what Is true for leaf mold composts, so I assume it is the same as cannabis.
not that it's crucial or anything.
I think there is a enzyme that they sell for the breakdown of the roots, but it's expensive and not really worth it (I think it's hygrozyme?)
you can make your own with oatmeal or pondwater, or both

I throw a handful of green cannabis leaves in with my recycling mix every time. It takes less than a month for them to disappear completely but I also add a lot of fresh EWC at the same time along with various dry amendments.

You have to bury or cover leaves with peat or compost or castings to get them to break down. Just being on top they will dry out but not break down. They'll act as a mulch.

That looks like left-overs from a bubble hash run, is that right?
yes indeedy, I got a buddy that likes to make hash, it's a lot of work... For me personally i'm happy with fresh scissor hash.. nothing better than scissor hash.
But I do like to use the leftovers.. honestly, and it sounds stupid, but the leftover trim gets me more excited than the hash..
I am going to make a big glob of dabs with this harvests trim, these Bodhi plants are resiny

I put some of my old stems from last harvest in two of my cooking soil mixes, buried about a quarter inch deep, which contain worms too. I turned them for the first time a couple days ago, been cooking for about two weeks, and alot of the stems have signs of being broken down. By the time I'm ready to use them in two to three months the stems will be completely broken down.
