i want to take some clones and dont wanna use rockwool or anything like that.. i like the ez cloner type of cloner yet i dont wanna have to buy a water pump and put sprayers in there ... can i use dwc and just have the cuttings steams sitting in the water ... or will it get root rot .. which is what i assume it will do but have to ask???

yes they can. i could show u pics but im sure there a million dwc cloners pics floating around the web. they root faster if u suspend them like aero right above the water line, that way the bubbles that come to the surface spray the stem with high oxygen/water . they root for me very fast. my diy might root faster than my ezcloner. i jsut go to the hydro store by the 2in ezcloner neoprene inserts. use a hole saw, and a tote, pump and air stone, plain tap water and roots ...

Illegal smile, is ur sig a blatant dis on roseman and his feeder tubes tuturial.. grow up and take that ignorant shit down

Yeah tilemaster, the ostrich is very ignorant and refuses to just let it go. No one says that his way is wrong but he constantly says ours is. Go bubbleheads!

I was wondering this too. I have built a new bucket setup but was wanting to use my DIY SH tote that I built for clones can I still use the rockwool basically like starting a seed? or would I be better off getting a mister setup for the tank and using the neo inserts? I would like to keep it the same as it is and root the clone in rockwool with hydroton in the netcup then I can just transer the whole netcup to my new setup.

listen you use the cubes to start until you see roots then put it in the net pots fill with hyrotin and put it in the bucket. i have never been able to grow clones just by putting them in water, they just rot for me, i have 8 clones right now and their bombing, read rosemans tuturials they work.

i have a container that is maybe 1.5-2 gal and i have a pump that is good for a 160 gal tank with 3 air stones inside i think it has enough air...

I just tried cloning for the first time a few weeks ago and I just used cloning gel and Brita filtered water.

I took 2 cuttings, one small and one a little bigger. The bigger one showed a root in 5 days and the smaller one just showed sign of a tiny root today. The smaller one took about 14 days to show the tiny root.

I notice you use quite a big container. Try using a smaller container so its easier to change the water out. Btw, I didn't have to change the water out for the bigger clone and I only changed the water once for the smaller clone.

I included a link to a post I responded to that has a few pics.

I didn't use a bubbler because I wanted to keep things simple and it's easier to move the clones around. Maybe my clones would root faster with one but so far, I've had pretty good success without one.
