Im finished with my grow shed, its 15 degrees tomorrow night, I placed my rez. in the room,,, I dont want my nute temps at 74-78 degrees like the room, so I was thinking of making a chiller out of a small fridge.. The heat from the exhaust in the room would be a warm welcome this time of the year.... I googled this and came up with nothing! thoughts? ideas? thx.... Frog

Hey buddy I know this might not be what your asking but if you want a cheap way to add co2 and raise your temps a bit. Coleman makes a mosquito machine thats discontinued.."Coleman Mosquito Deleto"; You can get them for $100 used or less now, mine was free! They sit with a propane tak underneath.. there is a burning element that turns the propane into co2 that attracts biting insects. Also the tanks last for a couple months at a time and you can get em switched out anywhere.

Also your chiller sounds good.. you just dont want the water too cold..

If you go on craigslist and either get a new school or old-school (cheaper) mini fridge. Make sure it has a real cold setting for good measure.. Go to hardware store and get copper tubing and one of those pipe bending wrenches (always useful). Make a dual coil connected at the bottom (it should look like a big "U"). Now measure two ports out on top of the mini fridge about the same diameter as the copper tubing. Drill out the two holes.. Now, ones your in and ones your out.. You will need "great stuff" expansion foam to seal or its equivalent. Hook a hose from your reservoir to the "IN" on copper inlet of diy chiller and a hose from outlet to reservoir. You need a pump on one end of the lines to force water through the super chilled coils, at your specified temp(because of the controller inside) and setting a thermometer inside or mounting on door.. the reservoir will recycle through your chiller keeping it very cool..

Also if you do it right you still have bit of a mini fridge for cloning gel, pollen, etc.

Dont forget to +Rep if this has helped, thanks.

Sorry I keep posting. Those old school mini fridges are around $15 on craigslist.. You having these two thing alone (if you needed them) would guarantee better harvest. Also saving hundreds on store bought merchandise.

I have an idea for a mini freezer with coiled 4" ducting to cool your room and N*gger rigging a a/c thermostat to control when the a/c needed to run, haha!but I haven't ever tried it. The fridge one is a must though..

Make sure your fridge is seperate from your room. Or you will be canceling out the cooling and heating. Your room temp will increase which might not help in the long run. I tried using 100 ft. Of Cooper and a freezer to help with my water cooled lights and it worked until the room got hot from the freezer being on.

you will need to be careful with that cheap c02 burner because no controls and if the c02 and c0 ppm get too high you will die this is way they are discontinued, at teh least get amonitor and keep it out of your house or get monitors for the whole house.

this just saved your life +REP me if this was useful

Well hes right, but thats true with any co2 method.. You always need a meter. Any time your doing anything to these plants it should be a little controlled. You would need a meter, for those 6 jet co2 burners, for a co2 tank w/ regulator, orany other co2 method.(its common sense.
