Quit right after getting a raise? You should have milked them a little longer. I always like to quit by not doing anything until they finally start to catch on.

So you quit your job before you secured another source of income?

How smart is that?
While i agree, he has plans, and has pay+raise, so maybe there wasn't the need to aquire another job first. Maybe he's using his cash to finally start up that masonry business, or focusing on being a caregiver, or whatever.

You must be under 30. Almost to the person, every one I know has done that at one time at one time or another in life. Myself included. Smart? Nope! But immensely satisfying to jump out of a rut and give the finger to the yoke of perceived oppression. Sometimes responsibility is highly over-rated!

That is very very true when you do it right. I did that but "right" was in another dimension at the time.
