FoxFarm nutrients with coco

I recently decided to give coco a try, I went with a 50/50 coco/perlite mix, I already have the entire 13 bottle Foxfarm nutrient line, So this is what I'll be using for now.

Here is my question though, I'm a bit confused on whether to use the soil feeding schedule or hydroponics feeding schedule? The soil feeding schedule mentions coco based mediums but most of my research says people treat this medium like hydroponics, Could I run into problems in the future using certain products in coco not recommended for hydroponics?

here are the two feeding schedules.

Any input, advice or discussion would be great, thank you.

ok first 13 bottle line wow that's bs, I use a simple 1 part grow and 1 part bloom plus cal/mag supplement but its your money. now you should not take any notice of what they say you should feed your plants and do it yourself, feed them what they need and no more you should be using a e.c or ppm meter start off light and if they start to lighten in colour feed them more if you burn them back off. and I feed everyday in coco in my experience that is way better then feeding every 2 or 3 days less problems. you need to figure out how much to feed your plant not what the bottle say's, and remember ph 5.8 plus I find that perlite is not needed I use straight coco all the way good luck.

I definitely am switching nutrients ASAP to something more organic and simple (13 bottles is a joke) but I didn't know any better when I had first started buying FoxFarm a few years back, plus it gave me good result so I kept buying it as needed.

When starting out clones I start my feeding at 1/2 strength of what the schedule calls for and then work my way up to avoid burning the plants. I think I'll stick to their feeding schedule's for now, I don't want to start experimenting, I simply lack the knowledge. I'm happy with my results so far, I just hope the stuff I have been adding to my coco that is designed for soil does not cause some sort of fungal or bacteria problems.

Do you feed every day in coco even when the plants are just starting out? This medium is truly impossible to over water? no need to worry about mold etc from it being too wet?

Use the hydro chart and treat as if they are hydro. Because they are.

Feed like coco lol coco is more like hydro that soil in anyway but it's also very different from either look at my comments I've made on peoplea threads with there coco problems I'll attach a file I've been working on in a little whole pH at 5.8 use an ec meter start your ec low at like 0.5 and slowly work up..every time u water u feed do not use plainwater coco has a cation exchange capacity if u use just water it will ruin the buffer. U also want 20 percent run off.. if you are flushing for salt buildup flush with a low e.c about 75 percent lower then ur regular e.c and then slowly work ur way back up again..ur using 50/50 perlite this is Allright I guess.. I wud use 75 coco to 25 perlite coco is amazing stuff and if u get canna coco bags ull never have a problem with over watering or improper oxygen levels in your medium and u don't really need perlite with these bags but that's up to u ..don't fall for the gimmicks all u really need is your base which wud be Canna A and B and then possibly some calmag.. I really like there pk 13/14 amazing stuff for flowering.. I personally use there whole lime with a couple advanced nutrients aditIves in flower and the black strap molasses :)..people use drip systems and water very little but more times that all right .. I personally feed with drip emitters but I feed until 20 percent runoff all in one feed then I wait for the medium to lose about 70 percent moisture before I water again.. into peak flowering I'm ding this once a day..at the last 2 weeKS of your flowering period do not flush with plainwater start at the beginning of ur last 2 weeks if ur e..c right now is e.g 1.8 then over the course of the 2 weeks gradually go down 1.7 1.6 1.5 until the day before harvest u should be at like 0.5ish but not plain water again I stress this..then when u harvest cut the stock right off at the base and do so right before lights on so that all of the nutrients is down at the root system because photosynthesis is at a halt during lights off.. follow these instructions for now Im working on a canna specific coco guide I'm 72 pages in and that's only the tip of the iceberg I will be posting this soon
