can I reuse my FFOF soil for next seedlings, there was never any nutrients or anything else but filtered water that was 6.7ph and then when I transplant put them in new FFOF

Okay thanks,I have a lot of it I was just thinking that's a lot of soil to waste
I'm totally with ya brother but with things like this i think its best to get some more the potential loss on this sort of thing is much higher than the loss of just buying another bag of soil (its 11$ at the hydro store in town where i live)

This is one reason I like perlite, just rinse it out and reuse.

In regards to your question old ffof might actually make a decent seed starter if its spent,id layer it and germ in the old stuff.

Heh dont really care for ffof myself, too inconsistent to be used as a serious stand alone soil imho.

I mix happy frog, ocean forest, and perlite in a storage tote, and thats my potting soil. Seedling mix, I use some bagged stuff. So if i have a failed plant or have soil that i suspect has life in it yet, i toss it in the tote.Mix it in. If it makes a full grow cycle i toss it in a compost pile....

I was thinking it would make a great starter soil, because some seeds seem to think ffof is to hot for them like my pineapple haze, but my white widows love the hotter mix I never use anything but ffof and tap water for my entire grow well I do use AZOS for root enhancement but that's it I

well if you are not going to add nutrients, why would you think you could reuse it? its like reusing the same coffee grounds.

Yeah.. Mix the old stuff with the new stuff out of the bag - 50\50 mix for seedlings..it works good.

Reusing oceanforest is probably fine for seedlings, but honestly you should consider a different soil. Fox farm was a good contender in 2007 and before. But afterwards their original harvesting site went empty and ever since then it's just bad. Inconsistent with a hell of a lot of filler. Is recommend roots organics if your stuck on soil. Though I prefer an inert medium myself

So it seems there are some mixed opinions here which I always entertain I guess what I'm trying to get at is some strains don't do as well in FFOF when they are seedlings, slower start, browning of leaves, etc but some love the hotter mix so I figured reuse the soil for the strains that don't like FFOF at first seedling then transplant into Fresh FFOF that away they get going good in less of if any hot mix but the transplant will kick in the nutrition and AZOS I use, and to PAPA Canna i have strains that do very very well in FFOF and some not same bag of soil that's why I figure it's the strain not the soil, but hey I'm always learning something, which is good

I shouldn't really say it's a bad soil, because most plants do well. My suggestion would be to buy a comparable bag such as roots or even vermifire, and watch the difference. You can even spot the big difference in the soil itself. Most people who swear by it have just never tried anything else

With out reading this thread I will add some info.

FF Happy frog is for seedlings and clones and can be used from start to end.
FF Ocean Forest is for plants, most people pot up from HF to OF.

Thanks for the info Dogenz I have never heard that and if you compare the 2 I only see that 1 is from land matter and other is ocean matter but I will do some more research on that and I have done and seen some awesome grows with FFOF but again if I need to get some Frog I will, all the white widows I have ever done seem to love it with really deep green colored leaves through out the grow where as other strains just do okay throughout the grow, but again I never use anything but AZOS and phd filtered water

Just some input. I tried "Amazon Bloom" from local coop. We don't have a lot of choices rount these parts. But, they didn't have any so tried Happy Frog. That Amazon Bloom had to be amended with a ton of perlite. It had little filler. If I remember correctly it wasn't as "hot" as the HF. But it did an amazing job early. This is not scientific because I grew diff stuff in it. But, like that soil. I bought the Amazon Bloom for house plants. If you have that option I would be curious to see others experience with it. Too bad they ran out and don't seem to have it. I would still be using it.

image.jpeg I just ordered a bag of FFOF about 10 minutes ago. I used FFHF for my seedlings and had damn good success. I'm planning on flowering in about another month so I'm going with FFOF and 5 gal. Fabric pots to keep from getting root bound. I am just growing 3 plants and its actually a closet grow. I moved my cloths to one side and growing in the other side. I've never used Ocean Forest before but the Happy Frog was so good I thought I'd try it.

Corso3 that's actually a good idea thata way the strains that don't like it totally hot will only be getting 50% and I bet they would do just fine gettin skittle then transplant in full when they can handle it,brilliant idea
