whats up guys, i'm about 2 days away from officially starting my grow. right now i have FFOF soil and botanicare nutrients. so i was wondering what my feeding schedule should be (i plan to start adding nutes my second week of veg) because botanicare really dident give me a feeding schedule. also i plan to move my plants outside for flowering and might just transplant into a new container with new soil, if i do this will i even need nutrients for flowering or will FFOF do all the work for me? thanks.

You don't need any nutrients for your first 3-4 weeks using Ocean Forest. I'd start feeding at week 3 if your plants are showing they'd like more nutrients.

Your thread was misleading I thought you needed help with both Fox farm soil and nutrients.
I am familiar with both but was not that line of nutrients.

sorry man, the main point of my thread was to ask for a feeding schedule. however because you are unfamiliar with the nutrients im using you cant really help me, but thanks

I started off with a 1:3 ratio of light warrior to OF. I also added a part perlite. Haven't used any nutes yet and I'm going into week 3. Plants are looking strong.
Probably going to transplant to 3gal buckets with new OF soil in a week or two.

We use both also-- be forewarned with the Fox Farm soil-- do NOT feed for at least 3-4 weeks, and add pearlite! If it gets too dry, it gets so solid the water runs-off before it soaks in!

As for Botanicare-- I have the chart (below) but I would wait until they look like they need to be fed (week4-5 they MAY start to pale a bit) then start with the week recommended for a younger plant so you do not over-feed. Luckily, with these organics, overfeeding doesn't happen as often as deficiencies do.

Biggest thing- measure your pH, and don't over-water! ;)

Week 2: 15ml PBP Grow + 6ml Cal Mag Plus + 10ml Liquid Karma
Week 3 &4: 25ml PBP Grow + 7ml Cal Mag Plus + 10ml Liquid Karma
Week before 12/12: 15ml PBP Grow + 15ml PBP Flower (soil formula) + 7ml Cal Mag + 10ml Liquid Karma
Week 1 of 12/12 : 25ml PBP Bloom + 7ml Cal Mag Plus + 10ml Liquid Karma
Week 2&3: 30ml PBP Bloom + 7ml Cal Mag Plus + 10ml Karma
Week 4: 20ml PBP Bloom + 10mg PBP Grow + 7ml Cal Mag Plus + 10ml Karma
Week 5 &6: 30ml PBP Bloom + 7ml Cal Mag Plus + 10ml Karma
Week before flush: 15 ml PBP Bloom + 6ml Cal Mag Plus + 6ml Karma
(repeat if not ready for flush)

Good advice here so far.

My advice would be to lift every pot every day, feel the weight. You'll start to get a feel for when to water by how heavy or light each one is. When you water/feed, give the pot a lift again to feel how heavy it is when full. IMHO this is the best way to know when to water. You can also to the finger poke method or whatever else you like, but the main thing is to know when to water - just before it gets dry, but not long before it does.

Beyond that, liquid nutes are pretty easy in soil. Just feed every other watering (feed, water, feed, water, etc) and if you want to play it safe each time you feed OR water, add enough to collect a little run-off from each pot and measure that with a ppm meter to see if it's getting higher. You want to make sure the nutrients aren't building up in the soil faster than the plants remove them or else you'll start to burn them.

And like everyone said, no nutes for 3-4 weeks in FFOF. If you learn to read plants they'll tell you when they're needing fed.
