Fox Farm Happy Frog

Whats up everyone. I'll be starting a new grow within a week from now. I know with Fox Farm Ocean Forest, it says not to feed your plants for about 3 weeks because it has a substantial amount of nutrients in it already. But, what about Happy Frog by Fox Farm? Would you wait the same amount of time until you feed your plants? I plan on using a 4'x4'x6.5' mylar tent with a 600w hps/metal halide HID light, 5 3 1/2 gallon pots and I want to plant my freshly germinated seeds directly into these pots so I won't be stressing them out from too much transporting. Mainly I just want to know, If I plant the sprouts into the Happy frog, how long should I wait until feeding them? I will be using Floraduo A&B for veg and flowering. If anyone knows the answer or has some good advice please let me know, because I will begin the new grow soon. Thanks!

I would wait also. the HF has more wood and what not in it but also contains trace elements even though not as hot as FFOF

At 2-3 weeks I begin 1/4 strength nutes. I feed at 1/4 a few times then I bump up to 1/2 strength for the next couple feedings. Watch carefully for signs of nutrient deficiencies. You can ramp up to 3/4 or full strength or not as you see fit.

Depending how long you veg you may never need to go full strength.

I really dont know much about foxfarms happy frog, but i think its kinda vision of peat moss ? i did make my own soilless pots, 48% of peat moss 48% perlite and 2% of garden soil. i havent feed my two seedling for 18 days so i do have GH floraduo, i used 1/4 of both a & b along with cal mag. you can see the results really immediately after you feed your plant...and im glad that i did started with low doses...let you see the pictures and you will get the general idea....heres my pictures:

i cant advise you to do anything, just follow your instinct and know your strain of the plant, hopefully this will help you

If you want to start feeding your plants without having to play guessing games, don't fukk with that FF shit use ProMix HP or BX, or Sunshine Advanced Mix 4 my personal fav, and you can start feeding when you want with liquids or amend them with dry nutes to your specifics.
FFOF & HF are more of a compost than soil, Does anybody know what is the npk? it does have nutes added right? most people have problems unless they cut it; it is living off it's reputation it's not half the product it use to be, ask anybody who's used it back in the day.

With PROmix do you have to water your plants more frequently as compared to FF soils? I heard that it is more airy and doesn't retain water as long.

MJ loves airy, well draining soils. Plus you could add things like vermiculite and/or earthworm castings to help retain moisture without burning the plants and it will still be cheaper and more manageable than the FF "soils."

What ratio would you mix the Pro-mix and earth worm castings? The prices are VERY reasonable as you said, have you had good grows/outcomes using pro-mix?

Also if I were to go with the pro-mix route, could I start feeding right away? or should I still wait a little while

I use Sunshine Advanced Mix #4 and dry organic amendments, but a lot of my friends use ProMix and liquid nutes like Canna & Advanced Nutrients, they water with quarter to 1/2 strength nute doses the first watering and slowly increase afterwards unless a particular plant is expressing a need for more. With regular potting soils I used to add 4:1 soil to castings (ex. 1 gallon of castings to every 4 gallons of soil).
