Found in House a Ticking Timer

Hey guys, I found this ticking thing in my house. Not sure what it is. Says it goes to lights, the light switch is turned off for outside the house, but this is very old technology I imagine and this is a freakin brand new upgraded house. All top of the line stuff in this house, any idea what this ticking box is????? Its pretty noisy. Picture below:

Looks like it’s just what it says, exterior light timer lol. What year was the house built?

was entirely remodeled about 5-7 years ago.

Flip the lever to the off position to stop the ticking

it's not that the timer is old. it really isn't. that type of timer is usually very reliable

That timer will outlast you pal haha their great. Definitly save that for your grow

Most likely it's for driveway lights or something like that. Those things take a licking and keep on ticking.

It's the Only timer to buy ,it'll run 4 ,1000 watt bulbs

This house has never been used for growing. Some weird stuff here: I’m going to find out I’m staying here. Wish me luck I figure this thing out. Another weird thing in the house:

That timer is in the central downstairs room inside a closet.

It should have one more clamp thing. One to turn it on and one to turn it off. We have two of those at work. One for the lights on outside of the building, and one for the driveway lights. Lots of lights on both, so a big clunk when they come on.

My house keeper got electrocuted when she tried to do that. I’m fucked. My dad is a huge scammer

That looks pretty ancient. Hopefully your breaker box/fuze's are new. Old school fuzes are a pain in the ass. They're in the shape of little marshmellows and have a clear round window at the top. This is how you see if the fuze is still good. Only problem is, you have to replace the breaker every time it trips.

An electrician came over the first time this was discovered. At that time it didn’t turn off even when he went to shut off the entire house panel’s power.

Are you just going to walk around your house and post photos of every electrical/gas unit that you can't identify? Cool. Thanks.

So it has a separate power supply? Now that is interesting. I wonder if it's still running through the meter.

Looks like your second trigger pin is laying at the bottom of the enclosure. If you get a few lights humming and a few fans whirring, you wont even hear that telltale timebomb.

For big loads, those old breakers are still used. There is a spring loaded breaker that opens and closes as the clamp thing trips it.

The two at my work were installed in 1982 and are still ticking away. Once in a while one of the clamp things will get loose and slip, so it turns the lights on and off every 24 hours instead of the schedule you had it set for.
