forcing pre-flowers, how is it done?

i was reading along and i noticed someone had said that by adding nutes you can encourage a plant to show its preflowers early, im scrog growing so id like to know how it can be done without feminized seeds before i start training on the screen. what nutes would i use? can it be done?

It's not going to show pre flowers till the plant is sexually mature and that takes time.

No nutes, light cycles, mumbo jumbo, nothing. You simply cannot rush mother nature.

When you get alternating nodes, you're close.

like wetdog said, you can't force it to show it's preflowers. it shows them when it wants to. I usually watch for alternating nodes before I start to clone. I usually take one or two and throw them straight into my pc grow box. I just use it to check sexes. then you can either throw them away or throw them back into veg.

Flick it to 12/12 simple as that.

I'd recommend taking a clone from each plant, label each to know which came from which, and use some rooting hormone, and put em under 12/12, and they should show u their sex within a few weeks. Thatz how I do it when I need to. I would disadvise you putting your "main" plants under 12/12 before sexual maturity, as it may cause stress that could result in an unexpected hermie situation later on, after u begin flowering. Ergo, taking clones to determine sex is the best way to keep your mother plants thiving and unstressed...

All you have to do is switch the lights to 12/12. But I would wait until it is sexually mature. It will show on its own that's when you know he/she is mature.
