Forcing Multiple root sets off of the Main stem

I have a Blueberry x Mendo Purp plant growing outdoors right now that I am going to LST.

It has alot of internodal space and has a vine-like, SO...Instead of a Normal LST, I am going to see if I can:

scrape off part of the outer layer of the 2-3 internode, apply some Rooting Hormone, and bury that part in the soil to develop a second set of roots. I am thinking that this would help with not only nutrient transfer but also moisture transfer, as my region in very hot and dry.

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this sort of experiment? I think it could really help my plant make the most of its soil and nutes.

i have seen this in old ed rosenthal high times tips i think. i would just clone it to avoid stem rot problems...but then again nothing like experimenting

im pretty sure it will root without rooting hormone if you buryed it a few nodes up. and theres nothing wrong with doing that. i know people that do that to strengthen stalks plus gets rootball deeper which = good.

Could this be done on seedlings before transplant? I mean if I scrape off a little, apply the hormone and just bury them deeper? Or the plant won't be strong enough yet to cope?

just burying the stem will suffice...anything else you do is just wasting time and material. bury the stem up the the bottom node and roots will begin to form from where it was buried and down. everyone should do this every time they up-can.
