Forced to use CFL's : ( Am I Screwed?

Hey guys, so here's my NEW lighting situation.

My sister's BF grows Hydroponically and pretty much maxes out our Electric as it is, so he's not gonna like me using a 400 Watt MH or HPS light, as it will probably blow our circuits. I'm serious, there's no way in using these lights just to be clear.

So we're not just gonna give up, we want to grow these plants, cus it's fun:)

Here's are next solution idea:

http://cgi.ebay.com/4-Lamp-FOUR-foot-T5-GROW-LIGHT-w-T-5-6500K-VEG-BULBS_W0QQitemZ180194886630QQihZ008QQcategoryZ42225QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

We want to purchase this, along with 4 Bloom Bulbs(3000k) for the flowering stage. All together should cost us about 200 dollars.

Will these lights, be able to produce a decent plant? With a decent yield? I mean, just "guesing" (and only if you really really know your stuff can you guess lol) how many grams can these lights help to yield?

Seeing as we for sure cant go HPS and MH, this is our only option it seems, or natural sun light

I would honestly look into it a little deeper, rather than just thinking. Try and look at the figures and do some math, instead of thinking that your 'electricity is maxed out' because there seems like a lot running.

But some folk do full grows with cfl's, try a search or two.

Well he already has our electric bill hella high and this guy is hard headed and just plain out a dick, I dont like him. And I'd rather not piss him off or anything by messing with his electricity. So I'm not even going down that path, at least untill my girl and I are out of the house living on our own in a few years, then I'm goin all out lol

Well when you add it all up I would figure using an HPS light would technically be just about using as much electricity as what you're planing on buying (not sure, I'm still learning my self)

Also with the bar floros you have a lot of space unused, unlike with the CFLs where you can cover the whole plant so you'd be doing your self a favor by using full CFLs, and saving your self some money.

yea I agree get a shit load of cfls and cover your plants with em. Get about 3 or 4 45watt cfls (per plant)if you can, dont know how many ure growing though.

well the t5's in that link ARE CFLS
The C in CFL stands for compact, those are not compact. Thats just a standard florolight. You'd get more light (because you can focus the light right into the plant) and would probably save money if you used a CFL instead of a regular floro like the one in your post.

But that would be my opinion.

How about if instead of a 400Watt MH/HPS, I get a 250 Watt MH/HPS....Would that still be a HUGE increase from using CFL's?
