For those curious about taking clones in 12/12...

Here are three pictures of the same plant/clone, at three different stages, taken over a period of time. Clone was cut in week 5 of 12.12, i put it back on 24/0 light cycle, cut off most all the flowering parts i could, leaving just a little vegetation, as you see in pic 2, and pic 3 was taken about 1 hour ago. On my last grow i succesfully took clones at week 8 flowering of a 10 week flowering phase.
I didn't bother removing the flowering part.

It took some time to recover and re-veg but it is shooting branches now like crazy. I gave it 3 weeks to recover and flowered it with the rest of my plants. I started shooting branches after around 10 days of recovery but really started growing after a week in flowering (4 weeks from rooting).

Its a great thing if you need a LOT of branches (SCROG anyone?) but otherwise it takes way longer to return to normal growth rate than conventional clones.

Anyway, up until the first quarter of the flowering phase the clones react pretty much the same as if took in the vegitative stage.

When taking flowering clones you should remember looking for parts with enough lush-green leaves to provide enough energy for the cutting to root.

Did the re-flowering clone eventually catch up (yield wise) with your other plants, if you were growing any others of the same strain?

Interesting experiment. I've seen many people say you shouldn't take clones during flowering, not so much that you can't. But usually without giving a reason why you shouldn't. I was under the impression that the stress of being well into flower, and then forced into veg again, would hermie it. Any experience either way guys?

I'm in day 10 of flowering, I do not know yet.
It will not catch up as its in a much smaller pot.
I just hope it will fill the screen where I want it to.
I don't look at the yield per plant, I look at the yield per grow.

People say lots of stupid things.
The stress the plant recieves is when you FLIP the lights to flowering as you'r changing the light cicle it got used to.
After a 1-2 weeks the plant should recover completely.

Re-vegging gives the same stress - your changing the light cicle.

It can cause hermie, but so does cloning in general.

If a plant hermies from such actions it might just as well hermie from temperature changes, humidity changes, root binding, topping, pests etc.
A decent plant should take it like a (wo)man!

This is an excellent thread. Question coming up for you mcinnc

I have one fem ak48 left & she's just about 12" tall. I was going to use her as a mama but since my flowering cabinet already has a 3footer ak48 thats been flowering for the past week, I've decided to leave that one to be flowering indoors since we are experiencing cold weather still in the deep south plus she is going to be huge, I don't need her outside drawing attention. This week I've got some jiffy pellets coming in & cloning gel. I'm going to put mama outside late next week to flower right after I take some clones from her. I have a six site clone machine so where would you suggest to me that I take my 6 clones from her. 1 main branch to make 6 clones or from 6 individual new growth site tips ? I want to keep 1 clone to be my future mama & if I'm lucky to have 5 more clones they will just be put in 1 gallon hempy buckets outside to flower when they are 10" tall. I don't have room in the mama tent for her & my cloning machine otherwise she would stay. I must clone her & put her outside. Please give me advice. At least the weather will be back in the 80s this week. Bout time !! :peace:

It's going to be a good summer. This time I'm going to grow 3 times more the amount I normally would so I'll be able to stock away jars for the future. I want to build up a reserved stock :weed:

Good job on the clone!

Putting vegging clones outdoors, too early in Spring can cause them to go into flower.

This isn't a disaster if the have eight weeks before April 15th, because the buds will mature pretty well, and will reveg.

Better to reduce indoor day length to about fourteen hours and set them out, May 1st.

all true, ive been advocating for people to actually try it for themselves before they say its bad and you shouldnt do it and stuff like that, i found a great article about it a long time ago. i'll find the link if anyone is interested.

No it's not, I'm on my 5th go around with ak48. Under the right conditions (whats that ?) it can finish in 48days of flowering. I harvest mine in 56-63 days of flowering.
