Just finished my first soil and HID grow after some pretty fair results i have decided to maybe go with LED due to a basic ambiance heat issue.
My whole run was well over 30 degree so i know my poor girls where losing a lot of energy to cooling them self's.

Anyway i have now enter the shady world of LED info,i know most LED light manufactures have made some poor quality rigs...

i have come across two different styles and would like to know which would work best.

I only run a small ds60 for personal uses.

I plan to master scrogging with c02 and uvb strips and aeroponic system for 2 girls each run.
(adding c02 next time and tempting a scrog)

I believe adding LED to this mix will give me a fruitful harvest.

but which of these would work best for me ??

If you are in the know please help me out i don't really get what LED is all about and its very confusing for someone just entering the grow world.

I'm looking for info i will be researching a lot more and don't rush in to anything, just want to make sure i'm looking at the best LED's on the market at a good price.

I get how LED is more expensive but run at a cheaper cost etc..

but can you use to much light with LED ?
my understanding is 24" is the basic sweet spot for LED is this right ?
does anyone make a LED and carbon filter combo ?
How loud is a rig like these ?

anyway here's the two types i'm thinking about.

Check out www.astirgrows.com

almost ready.

I am in US so not familiar with these brands, but Cree has vg-excellent diodes, depends on which model.

Not crazy about the diode color choices. It's old thinking. The current White led offerings (CW/NW/WW) are all that's needed- MAYBE- 10% 660, but that is strain related

I recommend 2 @ ~ 180 (more foot print coverage)

Look through my thread for ideas and info

Lots of great companies. Stay away from Ebay. I have blackstar, pro-grow, and Area 51 panels and they all 'work'.

My favorite is Area-51 for many reasons (PM if you'd like them lol); their new panels (March 1st fingers crossed!!) are all CREE, and use 5W and 3W diodes. 165W actual draw.

PetFlora is right on the money with the 'new style spectrum'. Pretty much everyone reputible uses white diodes for a full spectrum, with red as supplementation or some even just use warm white for all their red supplementation.

Blue LED's are a fading trend as the plants get more than enough Blue light from the white diodes. Most LED supplementation is in the 610-680nm range, or orange/red/far red.
