Foliar misting..?

I've been wondering for a long time now, thinking it could be possible, so I'll jump straight to it.
Can I dissolve epsom salts in hot water, mix this water into my humidifier?
Would the dissolved salts stay dissolved and follow the mist out, or would it stay in the humidifier due to not being able to evaporate?
I don't like spraying directly at my plants, have had some issues with that earlier.
Also, would that ruin my humidifier?

I have a small mag def.
What are your thoughts on this?

Your being lazy and inefficient. Foliar isn't a fix and wetting the tops of the leaves is inefficient. When you foliar it's best to aim for the underside of the leaf where the absorption will occur then it will drip onto the tops. You'll see a salt build up and dull leaves within a week-10 days if u rely on foliar. Fix your deficiencies through the rootball. You shouldn't have a problem with spraying th hell out of your plants if your humidity is at 50-60%. What ever problem you ran into it isn't b/c of foliar feeding...

Wow.
How is asking about an idea being lazy and inefficient?
Well, I guess thanks. I just wanted other opinions on whether it's a good vs bad idea. Never said I got problems with spraying, I just prefer not to.

Craig is just trying to post the proper information for folar spraying technique. I would add do not folar spray with the lights on. Now can I ask you something please, why would you want to spray sea water mist all over your plants, you can add mag with the salts by just watering with them. no need to waste a machine thats not meant for salted water to spray salted water, then you also speed up the rate of rust and decay in anything that mist touches.

Didn't mean to come off that way but it's like someone who starts growing and they do so with automated watering where everyone gets watered. If you spend time picking up pots every day and hand watering you'll realize some need water and some don't, which ones are sucking it down and who's got fungus gnats etc... believe me I've been where you are and been ridiculed for innocent mistakes too. Hands on will get you everywhere.

i don't spray anything on a regular basis. occasionally i spray a little epsom salts because its taken up so quickly that way, but its not generally a good idea, leaves have evolved to photosynthesize and respire, roots have evolved to absorb nutrients, let them both do what they're good at

Thanks for your input, I guess I'm just going to not add epsom to my humidifier lol, and do a small foliar feeding on one of my plants so I can compare it with the others.
Cheers :peace:
