HPA is ideal for dtw, the 4" tubes will make it less so as you`ll struggle to get the coverage when the roots nearest the nozzle kicks in. The only recourse is to use more nozzles which makes running dtw less attractive. Creating space and coverage issues and then fixing them by running more nutes is a bit daft imho :)
If you can create vertical chambers a foot or so deep (front to back) you could probably get away with 1 nozzle per foot mounted at the top, depending on the type of nozzle. Using gravity and open space to get the coverage is more effective than using more nozzles. .

I think you are vastly underestimating what HPA can do. 20 15ft 4" tubes with a 1000psi pump and 1 .008 nozzle per tube will fill all the tubes in under 2sec. That is a currently running system.

I reckon you should copy that system, an AA nozzle will outperform any hydraulic nozzle at any pressure in terms of droplet range and mist delivery volume but they dont work in 4" tubes. Ultrasonics will fill 4" tubes with fog but the droplet range is so small the plants struggle to get enough moisture.. I`d be interested to see what kind of root structure the 1000psi system generates, none of my hpa rootballs would fit inside a 4" tube, maybe a 12" if it was a couple of feet long and vertical :)

The tubes are completely filled. It takes more work to get the roots out than it does to trim the plants lol! Over the weekend I gave this design a bit more though and came to the realization that this will be more work than it's worth (horizontal tubes) I think what I will end up going with are 3 gallon buckets sitting on the floor.

My current design will require 50 buckets to fill my space. I was thinking about running a sprayer at the top of each bucket and I would drain to waste. What do you think about misting 50 3 gallon buckets? Seems to be a tall order pump wise.
