Aw Riddle, it's the up hill battle with newbie's and believers of internet video's made by self proclaimed "experts"....Why hell, if Danny Danko (Dorko) writing in that big flashy High Times magazine (They know everything) says to flush.....well it's true then!

I've been doing more reading and I think I am going to flush. It's a obviously a technique many growers have used to get conniseour quality buds. People are just not questioning how important it is, and what it really does for the plants. I've heard not flushing can leave too much chlorophyll to stay in the buds and cause headaches. Do you think my 177 ppm tap water will suffice?
Jr. - Flushing is a myth!
What YOU want to learn is how to dry and cure!
Flushing will move NOTHING out of the plant. That's plant science!
The "salt" shit people tell you about is a lie! The salts in the soil - NOT the plant! Your not reducing ANYTHING in the plant buy "flushing".

Read what RM3 gave you as a link!
https://www.rollitup.org/t/the-truth-about-flushing.409622/

Your going to want to flush.... Be carful who you take info from.
Well, between Riddle and I. Your getting information from 2 guys that combined, Have over 83 years of actual growing experience......Go ahead - tell us to write a book! One of us has!

As far as High Times goes. They are influenced by money! More then one nutrient maker has a "Flushing agent" in their line-up! They don't "flush" anything from the plant! Only money from your wallet!

Remember this! Nutrient makers are in the game to make money! Many tell whoppers and make ridiculous claims about just what their product can do! Flushing agents are one of the worst, most useless products they sell!

In NO WAY does flushing lead anyone to " a technique many growers have used to get
connoisseur quality buds." (sorry but I had to correct your spelling)

Harvested tobacco leaves, please note how they are lush, green and filled with chlorophyll and NOT yellow, dead and "flushed" to death...

This is why you aren't going to find any "studies" on flushing... Because it's Bullshit and a totally unessesary process.

The drying and curing process will break down the chlorophyll and starches in the leaves and create a smooth fine tobacco.Having green leaves at harvest is part of the process of having a good finished product.

Your chlorophyll argument is pretty weak and unsubstantiated.

But whatever.. Lol.

Can you go back and quote me where I said you or anyone else was wrong? LOL No you can't. I have stated, and I will state again. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A VERY CONTROVERSIAL TOPIC. I AM A FIRST TIME GROWER IN THE NEWBIE SECTION. I NEVER EVEN SAID THAT YOU WERE WRONG I AM JUST TRYING TO HEAR BOTH SIDES OF THE STORY. HAVE A GREAT DAY B
Yeah pretty much every thread here with flush or defoil in the topic goes this way, once you are here longer you'll see. A few of us have been here for many years and it has actually gotten better as more and more growers learn the truth. You can go check the Harvest/Cure forum and find many threads where the grower flushed but the buds did not turn out well and this is because it is indeed the dry/cure process that matters most when it comes to quality smoke. Those that do flush are mostly doing it for the fade that happens as a result of flushing, if you are growing outside your plants will fade naturally.

Another truth is that it is a black market tactic instead of curing for fast turn around. They flush, fade, dry, sell, the weed never sees a cure. Rather than get upset, best thing is to research both sides, like you are doing, try both for yourself and determine what works best for you, in the end that is all that really matters.

Good luck with your grow

Cigar leaf. Not cigarette tobacco. I've cut many a stick of burley. We would hang it and cure it in a barn. You did wait until it started to turn before you cut it. I got a tobacco spear in the neck drinking Little Kings and cutting tobacco.

Fuck all that shit. Don't even try that shit if you can't find a scientifically proven reason to do it.

You will hear people say that flushing allows the plant to use shit stored in its tissues. Bullshit. No one ever explains exactly how this happens because it doesn't happen.

It's like the fucking dopes that wear plastic bags on their bodies and go jogging thinking they will burn more fat.

It's fucking stupid.

I just did my first harvest. Cured for 3 and a half weeks and it's moving good with good reviews. 300 an ounce no problems. Smokes good. Ran full strength til i chopped em down

Its your grow. If you want to flush then flush. Just dry and cure it properly.

Next grow dont flush. Just dry and cure it properly.

I dont think you will bother flushing again..well at least not for the reasons you think. Have you read that link from RM3 yet?

Well your brain tends to see what you want to see. So that's why it's just ancedotal. Instead of a side by side you should search for the answer to the question "what happens when I starve my plant?"
kinda like these new members that post a thread, already knowing the answer they want to hear... everyone else with decades of experience is just wrong...

I think @cindywhite is cool. It is rough because so many people say to flush. Theres only so many resources out there and when alot of them act like the flush is just a normal integral part of growing you suck that up when you are researching and learning.

Dude. I was going to flush. I just happened onto a thread and it made me think about it .

And that's why I say fuck a side by side. Look at the science. The biology. It just isn't happening. Feed your plants
