flushing time

There really is no reason to flush, but if you choose to the water should be adjusted to the same pH as when using nutrients. It is better to use water with some ionic content not straight RO water. That means if using RO water add about 10% tap water or about 10$ of the fertilizer you were using.

No reason to flush?

I hate to see your plants.:spew:

Mine is below and flushed every 2 weeks to rid of nute buildup or blockage.

you should always flush around the last week of flowering, especially if you use chemical nutes. They can and will leave a taste that's easily detected by discernible stoners. :-) And yes, definitely pH your water, even if there's not nutes in it. There's still nutes in the plants themselves and I believe that pH'd water helps them use the last of it...That's just a theory of mine...heheh.

Properly dried cured buds do not have any residual tastes from fertilizers even by discernible stoners. Only improperly dried and cured pot (rushed by impar tient stoners) has bitterness etc. Laboratory analysis of plant tissues had shown repeatedly that there are no more residual fertilizers in flushed plants/buds than in buds given nutrients until harvest. The tastes that are being removed by flushing are not a result of fertilizers in the plant tissues. It is a result of chlorophyll and chlorophyll is not soluble in water. Chlorophyll is the green molecule in plant cells that carries out the bulk of energy fixation in the process of photosynthesis. By kiiling off the part of chlorophyll you are slowing photosynthesis thereby slowing gorowth at atime when the plants are pumping up the sex glands weight. Pretty counter intuitive. Chlorophyll readily degrades after harvest during the drying and curing process. By flushing you are causing a shortage of nutrients thereby starting an early degradation of the chlorophylll, however you are also decreasing the overall yield weight and potency while doing so. Just take time in drying and properly curing your buds and there will be no off tastes from chlorophyll.

Molasses:
Dissolved organics are basically everything that decays in the reservoir and doesn't get turned into ammonia. Things like phenolics, terpenes, tannins, and other carbon compounds can dissolve in the water. These are the cause of smelly, turbid water. Molasses fits into this category. It is even worse than just dumping sugar into your reservoir. They are just carbon compounds that feed bacterial growth. They do not feed the plants.

So that $30 bottle of Molasses i was about to but is a waste. What would you suggest to make fatter buds then, besides Co2 since im not ready for that yet.

The truth fairy. Properly used laboratory equipment only provides facts/emperical data not just opinions basedupon reading nonsence. Maybe you didn't know about measuing uptake and content through tissue sampling. Blows holes in many myths and fads constantly. You simply have to read research papers and not just comic book grade marijuana growing books and growing journal amatuer grower opinions to know the real facts.

ill just add that al b. fuct does not flush, try not flushing one of your plants and do a blind taste test and you will notice no difference. unless you are seriously overfeeding your plants no need to flush.

You know if an experienced grower started writing his plants were building up toxic levels of crapasoid and kept writing this farse he would get a following of other growers who adamantly claimed it is true and that they also have the same crapasoid build up problem and that flushing helps control the problem. As a result AN and other nutrient manfacturers would laugh in their board rooms and then simply tell their marketers to advertise their new crapasoid flush supplement. Oh that's right manafacturers have just started selling some nonsense flushing supplement. They call it something other than crapasoid flusher though. If people buy their new supplement well they will probably start selling Exlax as a cleansing supplement. Pooping pot plants oh my.

Try lighting the pot not your tongue with the lighter. Cured bud alwyas taste good. You ought to try learning how to cure your bud rather than using your mom's micro wave or oven to dry it. Peace!
