Flushing question

This is my first grow and I'm getting close to harvest. I've never flushed a plant before, but I just ran 2 gallons of ph water through my 5 gallon pot of my blue OG and laughing Buddha. I've read some places that u wanna do like 20 gallons through a 5 gallon pot, but I would need to hear that from u guys first. I also trimmed a bunch of fan leaves off my blue og (harvesting in 2 weeks). I've read not to do this, but I wanted to experiment with freeing up some light to the rest of the plant. Anyways, how should I properly flush them? My plan is to just give the blue og ph water for the next 2 weeks n harvest. I flushed the Buddha because it was having some nute deficiency so I'm trying to clean it out. Thoughts? The pic is my blue OG post trim/flush.

Flushing is a great way to reset the root zone back to neutral ...if you have been force feeding your babes with sewage in a bottle, type nutes then yes please do flush before harvest, you won't like that tin foil taste in your mouth at all, 20 gallons thru a 5 gallon pot, is high, but even with nute issues its best flushed at 3:1 or 3 times the volume of the pot, its not necessary to use all 15 gallons to be ph neutral just the last 2-3 gallons is good

Do this monthly which I hate but the plants love and see it as a common rain storm ...lol to my blog:

Thanks for the post Vostok, I have been using fox farm organic nutes with ffof soil, so shouldn't have anything too crazy going on in there, but I'm going to flush some more through there now thanks again for the insight

I'll let you know in a month! Haha really though, this is my first grow ever and I haven't smoked any of the strains I'm attempting. Right now I'm running 2 Wonder Women, 1 Blue OG, and the Laughing Buddha. The Buddha and Blue OG were clones, the Wonder Women were seeds. So far the Laughing Buddha is the only one giving me any trouble, it's growing big and will yield probably as much as the other 3 combined, but I believe it has a phosphorous deficiency (again, inexperienced so it's my guess. It has a lot of burnt dark brown crispy tips all over the plant.).

In your experience, have you had any issues growing the Buddha or do you know any tricks? The other 3 plants have responded well to everything so far. Fox Farm nutes, FFOF soil, and about 6.5 PH. I use about half of what Fox Farm recommends, nutrient wise.

mine go from solo cup directly to 5gal pots with FFOF soil + 30% large perlite and 1 cup powdered dolomite lime per bag. I only water until week 8 (week 4 I add calmag to 1 watering), then 100% flower nutes here on out. im on a feed/feed/water cycle, feeding at 1463pm every time with bubbled h2o. I also vacuum out everything in the overflow trays. and they do grow big and yield big too. you can let them go a bit longer, they will darken up a lot, purple wise. ive let them go 9 weeks sometimes 9.5 weeks. the bubble hash from LB is almost black and awesome, BHO is also really dark. I FIM, supercrop, and defoliate all thru veg.

as far as your plant issue, im not that versed on plant issues. ive only ran into 2 (cross my fingers) and want to leave it at that.
