flushing, does it really help?

I have read a lot that supports the fact that flushing does more harm than good. depriving the plants of nutes during the most important stage seems rediculous.. From what i understand, the harsh taste is Nitrogen and the clorophyl, now i am far from an expert, and cant spell for shit, but stay with me. the foul "green" taste is more directly caused from improper curing, which i think is the process that breaks down the chlorophyl and shitty taste.. now, if the plants leaves are yellowing heavily during the last stages of flowering, doesnt that mean the Nitro is getting used up already, thus not needing a flush? I think Curing should be done over time, I dont understand why a person would grow something for 3 mos and then want to rush the most important part.

I would love to hear other peoples opinions, or if anyone has experiemented two plants side by side, one flushed, one not, and taste that resulted.

p.s.
My first real post on RIU., so what up everyone. read many MANY threads.. you guys get off on rants sooooo easy, damn potheads. :joint: also, i see alot of people way over think this, i dont mean it in a bad way, but some of the shit i have read on here to increase yeilds, and different theorys, well it just makes me chuckle. Just let it GrOw.

Flushing is done at the end. Its to flush/rinse out nutes out of the plant when its ripe.
I hear ya about some threads. There are alot of young peeps on here learning.

Hey jondoe, I posted the same question a while back. Everybody told me to flush my plants even though there is an article in FAQ about NOT FLUSHING.
Anyways, long story short, I decided to run an experiment of my own. I flushed one plant, and kept feeding nutes to my other plant. After I chopped both plants down, I dried them both for one week, curred them both for 3 weeks, and guess what?.. They both taste and smell the same.
Awesome taste comes from proper drying and curring. Even a flushed plant will taste like crap if you quick dry. I hope this helps.

also, not to go off too far from topic.. but cure methods.. from what i can gather, you put in mason jar, open to vent for 30 minutes every 12 hours, do for approx 3-4 wks.. sound about right?

Yeah that sounds about right for curring. I didnt have a mason jar so I used a tupperware container. Also, I opened the container for about an hour twice a day. Curring is only done after the plant has been dried for about a week.
p.s. I used Fox Farm Nutrients and Fox Farm Soil with store bought R/O water.
p.p.s When growing fruits and vegetables I never heard of farmers or any other people flushing their crop for two weeks. So I dont see why marijuana would be any different. Just a side note.
