I have a novelty plant right now that I grew and budded in soil, I purposely did not feed it nutes just to see a few "theories" in practise, I also put it into budding when it was still a seedling, so it's been in budding for about 3 and a 1/2 months. IT is only about 20 inches tall, it's leaves have all yellowed, but they are still standing up straight and true, though the kola has remained skinny... It never fattened up.

I noticed right off that leaves do not "Store" nutrients, defoliating does nothing(I did not defoliate, there was no need, the planet never produced fan leaves large enough to make a difference), and flushing does even less...

In about another week I intend on harvesting, I will take some pics.

The variety is some sort of indica that I received from a friend as a seed, it ended up being a mother and I've cloned it.
Just curious there cowboy, how did you get a mother plant and take clones when you put it into flower as a seedling? :fire:

this was a survey and not an attempt to determine which is better

looks like we have to settle a fight.

Chuck Estevs and larry bobkins you are gonna have to post a picture of your dicks so we can see who is the winner

Leaves are the main site of food production for the plant. Structures within a leaf convert the energy in sunlight into chemical energy that the plant can consume as food. Leaves layers protect the leaf from insects, bacteria, and other pest

A gas tank stores gas in it, if you never go to the gas station even a brand new car will not run.

I let it get tall enough to pop out two little branches about 2 inches long. Still in seedling stage as it had not even shown pre-flowers.

I consider them seedlings until they show pre-flowers. (Cowboy)...

I use EZ-Cloner, it works like a charm every time.

I let them flush and strip their plants. Anymore I just laugh at them as they reduce their actual yields yet increase their own egos. Such a glorious thing.

SOOOO very true!

By the way, with the mass store of nutrients available in the bucket of my DWC, there is no need for the plant to "Store" energy... the leaves are merely solar panels that help transpire the entire process of converting sun light, nutrients and Co2 and into the sugars and then cells, it needs to grow green material. Remove the fan leaves and you remove this process.

If plants "Stored" their nutrients, after they got to a certain point, you wouldn't need to nutriate them any more. Instead, especially with soil grows, after they've consumed the nutrient reservoir built up in the soil, you have to keep feeding them or the plant rapidly loses first, it's growth vigor, and then it's chlorophyl. If it was stored up, it would lose neither of these.

With a store of nutrients in the reservoir, this is why the folks who defoliate never really see the plant become "lacking".... There is TONS of food in the reservoir, and it's not being processed by the leaves, because there are no leaves. The leaves that are there, are trying to make up for the leaves that aren't, they don't make up for it by producing bud, they make up for it by producing more leaf so they can more efficiently transpire correctly.

People don't believe me but, if you want to increase your yields fucking with a plant? DON"T DEFOLIATE, instead, top the plant and then keep topping the subsequent terminal ends, after re-branching has taken place. Even then this is useless as you will then end up with a massive amount of little tiny kolas and a big pain in the ass to trim on harvest day.

My biggest problem with this nonsense is not the folks raping their plants. My problem is that noobs love to play with their plants, often to death, and should not be encouraged to "experiment"

Dammit Chuck......I have warned you in the past NOT TO GET ALL "SCIENCY" it makes the childrens heads hurt. Do it again and you will be reported as SPAM (Science Promoter All Mighty)

Those neuts could be stored in the smaller leaves thus get rid of the big leaves no?
