flowering plants question

So ive noticed, from pics and videos, that theres a lot of methods during flowering.

one i came accross that got my attention, was the removal of all fan leaves. there are plants that are just nugs really, and all fan leaves are gone. granted this is close to harvest time (id imagine), but... anyone here do that, and why? to give the nugs more light?

the first grow i left them all on til they were dying then plucked them, in the end, i had mostly all my leaves, except for maybe a 1/2 foot at the bottom where they had died.

what do you guys do? just trim them off as they start to die? leave them til they fall off, or pluck them to give the nugs more light

heres an example i found quickly kinda showing what i mean, they pluck it all!

id leave them on if i can. Outdoors you have the problem of dying leaves not dropping, they will then probly cause mold issues. Gotta open the plant for airflow reasons in some situations. molds suks.
I imagine an indoor grow can have the same airflow issues. from what I have read tho i understand they should be left on until they die.
