Flowering night light

I just setup my grow room to have 2 sections.
flowering and vegitation
my flowering room runs at 12/12.
while my vegitation runs at 18/6.

I have put up what I could to block these sections off from eachother.
Theres a wooden thing setup with little strings of wood going up the middle. about 1/2cm all across and up. so it doesnt block the light.

I then put up a dark green blanket so it will help the light get blocked for the 6 hours of light the vegitation has on it.

I was wondering, will this effect the growth of my flowering plants?

you must have 12 hours of darkness. it must be total dark. even jamaicans say the best bud comes from the basement when they can grow outdoors

Yes.
They need total darkness to sex.
Mine sexed in 7 ds.
The second day I got in my closet with the lights off and blocked all leaks of light.

The light leaks will also slow budding females.
This can really add to your projected harvest date exponentially.

You may just want to get a stapler, duct tape, and some black trash bags.

Happy growing.

so just that little bit of light will effect the way they grow?
It can. Total darkness is where you can't see a white sheet of paper after you have been in the darkened area for 5 mins.

I separate my veg & flowering areas with a curtain made out of a double thickness of panda film, looped over a 2x4 screwed to the ceiling. White sides face the grow areas.

Black trash bags are nowhere near lightproof.

A few layers of aluminum foil will cover gaps in a pinch... real short term solution. Go buy some panda film and fix it in place over the gaps in your wall with beads of silicone sealant.

Lowe's or H. Depot has rolls of 2ml black plastic, 10' x 25 or 50' for cheap and it is much better than trash bags. The heavier the ml, obviously the less light gets through. A pin hole leak is not going to spell disaster but too many leaks or coming into your grow room repeatedly with the lights on when it is supposed to be dark and you can have re-veg problems.

Common with small light leaks are stretchy or 'runny' buds near the light leak where the bud's stem elongates and produces fewer seed bracts (mainly the smokable part).

Suffice it to say that you should be shooting for zero leaks rather than hoping the ones you have won't cause probs. If you're an inveterate grow room fiddler, it's a good one to be pedantic about. ;)

Well I decided to go get some black plastic from home depots.
I got 12' x 2' for $15.00.
That means that I had to put up three 4' sheets from the top down so it would cover up the light from the vegitation room.
