lol, i just started a thread on the same subject. i live in the s.w. desert, fairly close to mexico. i just don't get how it flowered already. i figured it would eventually revert back to veg....
Yes it will revert back, but it's not a good practice.
It flowered because you put it out too early in the season. MJ is triggered by the day length & the days are still too short for clones....

Don't kill the messenger....are you gonna believe me or your lying eyes?......look at your plants...yes days are too short. You could get away with small seedlings now, but too early for clones as they are more mature....
lol, my lying eyes? it seems like the days are long to me. but yes, it was a cut, not a seedling.

I bet she's actually further in flower now. The correct answer to your question bro is that there's three cycles to growing. That plant will be done in June. My candy jack is looking nice as well as my Alien and my purple crunches. My advice is for you to put more plants out now for the later grow. And yea my f - in thin mint is in flower to lol. I'm also In Cali. Next time if you want to wait for the October harvest wait until spring and not a day earlier! !

finally...last minute...and on a budget. the quickest and cheapest way i can think of for light deprevation setup. with some 3/8 rebar, 1/2 conduit pipe, galvanized wire, 3mil black plastic and some rocks to hold down the corners! i'll call it a work in progress lol.

the days are too short? it doesn't get dark here till 8???
like I said, everything depends on the vege LIGHT cycle, if it's 24/0 then all of a sudden it's getting like 10 hours or so of darkness, and the DIFFERENCE is what the plant sees, if you were vegging with a 15/9 cycle or even a 16/8 then the additional darkness hours wouldn't trigger them. Even @ summer solstice, they'd start flowering.
And obviously certain strains don't need much of a change to begin with.
But that is why I don't have a long vege cycle, people swear by the 24/0 or 20/4 but that's all fine and dandy, IF you never put them outside or if you live at the friggin equator.

it's good idea, brother, but BLACK plastic absorbs light which=heat, not to mention the transpiration of all that water that can't go anywhere.
be careful with that.

it's not that the days are too short, it's the difference in whatever they were at in the veggie cycle, you can put clones out as soon as early as late april/ early May, as long as they are ready for it

Please define "ready for it".....if you put out clones in april, 90% will flower......

like I said prior, and i'm sorry I wasn't clear, "ready for it" meaning the light cycle is almost identical to outside day cycle, meaning if you have 15/9 cycle or even 14/8 (some strains will flower at that)
And I should clarify, here in central CA, you can "ready" them with usually a 16/8 or a 15/9 cycle.
That's what I meant. You wouldn't be able to do that in a lot of places.
In my area, I have VERY good success at just having them acclimated to the short day cycle first. Just for kicks I looked it up, the end of april/early may is about 14 hours of light, and 10 of dark (obviously) central CA coast
and I stand by my original statement, properly acclimated you can start them that early. EVERYTHING is strain dependent though, i'd say a good amount of strains would in fact start with 10 hours of darkness, but not 90%.
kinda splitting hairs though, i'd say as a whole I do agree with you, just not on the percentage, it's just not worth it to me, to argue

I get what your saying greasemonkey. I had some clones start flowering in the green house, so I brought them inside under 24 hours to revert to veg. Problem is, you still gotta put them outside in 14-15 hours of light. The plant notices, lol. I'm just letting them go outside til they sense the increasing day.

Seeing as how the plants already so big...he won't lose any time...what's 10 days in a summer long grow...a lot of folks in Cali don't even plant til mid may....by mid May he'll be on natures veg cycle and bigger then most who just started that month...
When I grew in SoCal, I would start around June1st from seed and with Sativa I could top twice and still have a 7 footer in September.
