Flowering hempy dramas..

Just so we are clear here those plants have 4ish weeks left gauranteed. They are still in full on flower production mode, and are showing no signs of maturity.

I would get back to feeding them. I would also get in there and clean out all the dead brown shriveled leaves before they start to cause rot.
4 weeks! Jeez I didn’t think they were that far off. I’ll need to swap the nylon line holding up heavy buds with steel cable If they need another 4 weeks.

Good news tho, I received my 1000x USB microscope today in the mail. So I’ll be able to view the trichomes better when the lights come on at 730. And it definitely shouldn’t have any dramas viewing them!

since I’ve got to start feeding again what ec/ppm/ph should I be shooting for? When feeding full rate Lucas maxibloom I was getting 1.6 ec, but when I changed to the Lucas flora I also started measuring in ppm (500) and full rate I was getting around 1000-1040ppm. And as mentioned earlier in the thread I had ran out of GH micro But still had GH bloom. I brought a bottle of nutrients to tie me over when my micro gets here on Friday . GH micro had a npk 5-0-1 and the new stuff I brought is 8-1-3. It’s not the same but as close as I could get. Reading the bottles I’ve noticed the new one has a few more things in it and a little higher %. As I’m feeding Lucas 8/16 (1-2) should I still use the Lucas ratio with the new bottle even tho it’s not the same npk? Or should I just follow the instructions on the back of each bottle?
Cheers

You will definitely get more weight and quality out of them then next few weeks. Good supports for the buds will help that. The last 2ish weeks you won’t notice much outward growth from the plant, but it is swelling up internally. This is a stage tons of growers miss out on because they don’t let the plant mature long enough. Then after that swelling is done is when you should check the trichomes.

I would suggest posting up more pictures in about 16-18 days and we can reevaluate. Every plant matures differently so all we can do is watch the signs that the plant is giving us to show it’s maturity.

Just so you know, epsom salt has no Ca, just Mg, and sulfur. That's actually why I use it. My water already has Ca, and so do a lot of amendments I've added. It's good stuff though.
yep, i know that but he's out of micro and trying to find a way to feed his plants w/o it. at least he'll have plenty of Mg with the Epsom and might have to go without Ca if he didn't have cal/mg

My last grow had a new flush of white pistils at 7 weeks. I chopped at the beginning of week 12.
The wait at the end is a wait. I took a sample at 8 weeks and it was no where near as dense as when they were done.

you could run all the numbers through this nute calculator and try to come up with your new version of Lucas. off the top of my head, i would say something like 7/16 or 6/16 with the new micro would be close.

I ended up fill topping up my nutrients reservoir last night. It had about 10L of micro/bloom. I filled it to the 80L (21gal) Then decided I’d lower the rate to 5/10 instead of 8/16. So I added 105ml micro 210ml bloom. Tested the water in the morning. Ph 5.5, ppm 1040, ec 1.6 so I decided to ph to 5.8, using a pump take 15L solution out and add 15ml water to lower the ppm. Re measured 900ppm I dunno Now since they could be another 4 weeks if I should lower the ppm more or higher?

I got a few pics of trichomes tonight. The 1000x micro is so hard to take photos with cause it’s so hard to keep steady. I made a flexible arm that’s use to hold mobile phones and mounted to a chair lol. But it’s still so hard but here’s a few

900 should be plenty I would think. maybe too much actually. do you feed daily in the hempy?
I checked it tonight before watering it was 840ppm. I can take another 15L out and check? Yeah I feed daily at lights on for about 40secs and get a got %10-15 run off

in my hempy days, i never went above 1.2 EC (600ppm) with daily feedings.

have you ever checked your runoff ppm?

I’ve searched online and found ppm to feed higher and lower then mine so I’m not sure. I’m thinking I’ll take some nutes out and add some water again.

yeah I check it pretty often. That’s anything thing I had dramas with. Ph/ppm runoff it was 50/50 opinions online to check runoff or not. My Ppms were to bad if it got over 300ppm then my reservoir I flushed them. But my ph would always be high. Feed at 5.5-5.9 check runoff 6.1-6.5 thats why some of mine leaves a burnt from ph lockout. Did you check your runoff?

and not to say youre wrong since i wasnt there, but are you sure your lockout wasn't from nute strenght and not pH?? those pH values aren't bad at all.

Hey sorry for the late reply I’ve been away for work. There’s obviously a good chance they were nute burn from high nutrients, but when the leaves all started to go crispy was when I was having dramas with bad Ph fluctuations. Until I changed how I was mixing my nutes and got my nutrient reservoir sorted and turned the air stones I had in each pot off the ph was getting really low or really high daily. It was painful especially when working away.

Back to earlier in the thread. I brought a new bottle of micro from eBay with “guaranteed by Friday” written under its title. Today is Friday, checked the tracking it’s arriving Monday now

I’ll get some new pics up later when the lights come on the see their progress

Here’s some progress pics. The close ups are of 3 plants because somehow I forgot to take 2 pics of the back right plant lol. But there are 2 pics for each plant
