flowering cycle.

So instead of giving my plants 36 hours of darkness I gradually added 30 mins of darkness for the last week of veg. Until I reach 12 12? So I can do lights 12 pm to 12 am then they go off. Is this ok? I heard I must always start at dawn, but i came across this a little after I started doing this 30 min cycle. Since its only really about longer nights than days I didn't seem to think it was important when the hours started as long as it followed the cycle 12 12.:joint:o

if your indoor than you decide what time of day it is for your lady.. as long as you go 12/12 cycle she'll start to flower. I've heard of people go slowly down last week of veg. IMO its kind of a waste of time i found, try it straight to 12/12 next time see what happens. the reasoning is once the plant reaches a full 12/12 is when it starts to get into flower mode, at that point she'll begin to slowly absorb more nutes and water for and stretch in growth for about 2 weeks (its like veg growth but twice as fast), then she'll begin the actual flower growth where the little hairs and buds start to go come up. soo that week of you slowly cutting down the light time could be the first week you go straight to 12/12 and she's gonna grow much faster during that first week period of 12/12 than she will in "a little less light veg growth".. I can see your argument of less stress to your girl by small amounts of change in your environment at a time, which i understand and practice with my feeding... but this immediate switch to 12/12 will kick her in the a$$ and get her goin rather than her guessing if she should be vegging or getting ready to flower

IMAG0241.jpg should I trim a bit before the first full 12 hours? I trimmed two weeks ago, but it was small.

Don't go straight to 12/12 - 36 hours darkness first! You'll start flower production much earlier.

doesnt look like u need trimming, show a pic of the preflowers if you can we'll get this settled on that hermi.. slump how long do you 36 hour of dark before 12/12? I never heard of that actually making a difference before

K, my camera is no bueno. For a better description ,the pre flowers on the top of the plant kinda look like female shape, the ones lower on the plant look thinner almost like on a stem. But not an exact ball at the end. I haven't really seen "claws" and I know I need pics for better help but my other plant I know for a fact has one type of pre flower and it has hairs coming out. It's my actual first grow. But I wanna give it a 110%.

Those are good. Thanx. I think its going more towards male. I thought it was hermie but those I thought were females are probably males.

if your males are at that stage you have some time. I waited until I was positive. It only took a day or two after that picture that i looked at it and was convinced.

that's an interesting comment, what's the theory behind this?

When going directly to a 12/12 light cycle, the plants will take longer to realize they're supposed to be flowering. 36 hours of darkness basically smacks them in the face and they start flowering sooner. Try it on your next grow, you'll see flower production starting 3-5 days sooner.
