hey im goin to do my first outdoor grow this year and i needto get started now... im going to grow some seeds and then take clones... flower the clones and keep all the mothers and daughters... the only thing is i only have flouros and i was wondering if once i grow the plants to a big enough size to take clones from, will the clones flower under flouros enough to tell sex?... im oviously not goin to try and flower them for buds under the flouros ... just to determine sex... is this possible???

it will work. the plants may show preflowers before the clones have rooted.

it would definitely work i have done that many times but i prefer MH rather then fluorescent but it will still work fine. But with MH i noticed i get stronger healthier plants. you should check this link out and watch the video's, you might need to sign up with you tube.... but this guy does what you want to do except he puts his under a hps for all of his flowering, you would be staying under fluoro and going outdoors for veg and flowering, but its the same concept.

i understand.... you want to flower a clone under a fluoro to determine if you have a mother plant or not and then if you do you would take more clones for outside.

Hey man... I'm currently doing the exact same thing and am currently using CFL's and they are doing the job just fine. I let all the plants grow for approx 5 weeks and then change from the 18/6 to 12/12 in order to sex the plants. They all sex'd themselves within 1 week and they have all been put back into a veggin stage and I'm currently growing them as big as possible so that I can get as many cuttings as possible from each plant.
