bro your going to need a whole lot more light, about 10,000 lumens per plant... my 20 watts cfls give of 1800 lumens and ive got 9 of them for 2 plants... but yea read up on growfaq theres heaps of info about how much light you need

thanks for the help. i've made a new grow box out of two office depot boxes. haha it just looks like two cardboard boxes stacked up in the corner of my closet.it's about twice the space of the computer case i was using, i lined the inside with white paper, and right now i've got the small shop light on the top with the two CFLs i have on the side. got 2 computer fans (one blowing in and one blowing out) i'll put up some pictures tomorrow so i can get some opinion on the setup

i jacked a 22 watt circular flourescent light from my work, would it work alot better over the top of 1 plant vs. the 18'' straight flourescent tube? i was gonna put the circular over the top then 2 18" tubes in 2 of the corners. should that be enough light?

Then I suggest you read the FAQ again then, because you're not giving your plants 10,000 lumens either. You can't add together single point light source outputs for depth penetration calculations. By having 9 x 20w CFL's all you're doing is expanding the AREA you can cover - not the depth penetration which will always be based on 1800 lumens.

Here are some pictures of a plant that was grown using CFLs (43 watt - 150 watt equivelant).

The book will be available in late october and you can learn everything you need to know to have a successful CFL grow.

so to explain i got the circular 22 watt flourescent over the top. then two 26 watt CFLs shining up at the plant. i've got 2 computer fans (one goin in one goin out) and i have that small desk fan in there. with two CFLs added the temps stay in the 90's and idk how to keep the temp down. and i'm gettin worry so many leaves are drying out already, all the newer leaves look healthy, it's the original leaves that dried up and died off

NICE!!!

Did you flower when the plants were young?

The plants I mentioned were flowered when they only had 4 nodes (4 inches tall, 15 days from seed)

I believe smaller is better when using fluorescents... :)

cheers
