Flourescent Sunrise: A CFL / HPS Adventure

I checked out the dr chronic site and couldn't find anything called black rose. The closest were black widow and black jack. Did you actually get to choose that strain or did it just show up with your order?

i use the general hydroponics ph adjustment kit...

GROWTH NOTES - ok.. well everything is lookin great.. one of the larger plants is showing alot of neon green as the buds fatten up, covered with a shiny glaze of thc.. its so beautiful... it looks different in the photos .. must see in person! also.. on a side note i Germinated 3 of the 5 black rose seeds i got.. 2 of the 3 popped already and have been placed in soilless mix.. ooohhh i cant wait! im hoping that they are the second batch of Black Rose that Heath gave to dr chronic.. because i was reading on Dr Chronic's forum that heath's first batch (produced august '07) were feminised and that his second batch (sometime in 0 were not femmed.. (( when i first researched the black rose strain on heath robinson's thread, i read that they were all feminised.. but then later found out just the first batch was )) most people would want fems but i have plans to selectively seed the first couple plants out so that i can keep a genetic back up in case of emergencies..

yep.. today marks the first day of week 6... by the looks of it i think im going to let them go 10 weeks... we'll see... i dont want to start flushing yet because they look like they arent ready yet... what do u guys think

they are getting fatter every day.. so i think ill wait till they start to slow down before i start the 2 weeks of water only / flushing

man.. its been a while since i posted.. i feel like ive abandoned my thread!! well.. there was a bunch of personal things holding me back from updating.. i have been workin 70 hour weeks, went outta town for work for 4 days, then i get back and now ive been sick as a dog for the last 3 days.. well theres a good and a bad to that.. bad being, i dont get paid for sick days yet! and good because i finally get to update my journal...
so let me get you up to speed..
well 2 of the plants have finished.. i chopped them monday (that made 8 weeks flowering)... the other two are not nearly finished flowering.. they are just growing out of control.. im not sure if it would be worth the wait for these.. i will take pics of them tonight when the lights come on.. they seem to be a whole nother plant! not just a different pheno.. everything is different.. they have Like MILLIONS of budsites, but they are taking forever...
i might just chop them down and make hash out of them.. so i could make room for the 8 clones i took from the other pheno which has already finished... i have some pics of the plants a couple days before i cut them.. and pics of the buds i got from them..
i already threw away the 8 clones i took from the other pheno that hasnt started to fill out yet.. i just dont like them...
im prolly gonna just SOG these clones out until i get the Black Rose mother i want.. i have 2 BR seedlings lookin real healthy... well.. thats pretty much all i can think of at the moment.. i know im leaving out a ton of stuff so if anybody could help me catch people up by asking questions that would be great.. i have medicine head and its hard to remember all of the important details right now..

see how big they are getting? im not liking this.. its too much.. im going to do a SOG next time around.. just flower straight from clone.. no veg.. i want to keep em short and a single fat cola next time..





all that bushiness .. its been 8 weeks and theres no fat colas yet.. just a BUNCH of white hairs.. . hmm... there are hundreds of bud sites tho.. these two plants grew VERY different from the other two.. these appear to be an outdoor pheno.. I wish i could throw them somewhere outside and let them fill out... they are not getting the light penetration they need with my 430w

this had been drying for about 3 days.. and then jarred... then left to air out a bit.. then jarred.. its pretty dry now.. ready to let it set in the jars and cure.. it weighs in at a little under a quarter pound... 108.. well see how it smokes.. im not too happy with this strain.. i think i will have much better buds with the black rose, white widow, and crystal.. but this smoke will hold me over until i can get them all ready for flowering.. heres some pics of the black rose

the black rose plants have an amazing root system.. the roots are already coming out of every hole in the bottom of their containers..

I dont like huge plants either, I have 2 plants on veg wich i cloned and put on 12/12 hempy style, I also cloned my girl on the first week of flowering and her clones are doing well so far, I'm looking to keep 2 mother plants to take clones every couple of weeks and flower right away.... SOG/Hempy baby!!!

very pretty bud porn dert!!!!!!!!! you should so try hempy on a few clones next time you are a mover and a shaker I bet youd like it!!

well.. hempy requires a little more attention..theres no real absorbtion material.. the substrate i use is B'Cuzz HydroMix.. i have a whole big bale of it.. and i spent $45 on it.. so im gonna use it up.. but i will probably try it out anyway.. on a couple of clones of the Black Rose.. see how i like it in comparison to the B Cuzz...

mmmm.. they are starting to turn in smell.. the grassy smell is fading and im getting this nice thick rich aroma of dank .. mmmmm MMMmm mmm.. i smoked a joint of it and it burned sooooo smooth.. and there was no displeasant taste.. thats a good thing.. cant wait till they are fully cured.. . tick tock tick tock

i was wondering what happened, didnt hear from you for a while. man those buds look nice and when they cure properly i bet it will be kill. what strain did you chop? i know you said before but my memory is shit..rep if i can..
