First off, the oldest plants (NYPD, I.G.F., mama mia) are now starting their second week of flowering. I apologize if you were expecting to see the veg stage of this grow, but I also have an NYPD, mama mia, white widow, kabrales, and purple haze in their 4th week of veg, along with a bunch of clones from those 5 that are just beginning to root.
I would have began this journal during my first germination (1/29/12) but considering this is my first grow I expected to see some not so pretty results. Luckily I did plenty of research before purchasing everything and germinating, although there were still a couple speed bumps I've encountered, nothing momentum halting just learning experiences.
I ordered my first batch of seeds from BDS (Buy dutch seeds) (NYPD). The only issue I had with this purchase was a 2 week shipping period and slightly pricey seeds. Other than that, I was satisfied with a 100% germination rate, and they threw in 10 indica sativa mixed seeds with the order as well. The packaging was descreet and included gloves in which the seeds were hidden.

I ordered my second batch of seeds from attitude seeds (I.G.F., mama mia, P.Haze, White widow, kabrales). Definitly will be using them for now on. Great price, speedy delivery (7 days), included secure shipping with a brand T-shirt in which the seeds were hidden nicely and gloves. Also, 100% germination rate (I've been very lucky)
I begin germination on 1/29/12 which included 6 random seeds, 3 NYPD, 1 C99, 1 W.W., 1 I.G.F., and 2 mama mias... Long story short, I used a type of pot that couldn't retain water, many plants died from dehydration. I was able to salvage and NYPD, IGF, and Mama mia along with the 6 randoms.
My first room included 3 fluorescent fixtures, 6 bulbs, 4 feet long by approx 2 feet wide

MY SOIL MIX IS PROMIX BX/MG PEAT MOSS/MG PERLITE/VERMICULITE in a 50/30/10/10 ratio
NO NUTES WERE USED DURING FIRST VEG CYCLE. (Bad Idea but no harm done, just awaiting skimp yield)
Below were my seedlings, in the cardboard pots of death. BEWARE: DO NOT BUY THESE POTS THEY DO NOT RETAIN WATER AND YOUR BABIES WILL DIE. All seedlings in the brown/orange looking pots were safe, they thrived but the others were aborted.

Below are the 5 randoms, along with the NYPD, IGF, and Mama mia that survived... The randoms were in good pots so they resumed normally after transplant to the green pots, but the nypd, igf, and mm were all stunted when they were brought back to life, then transplanted.

Below is my second batch of seeds getting started, I have bought another fixture that is about 4 foot by 2 foot again, only 4 bulbs, and placed the new seedlings under there as they began veg growth. (24/0 light period)

My 5 randoms along with my nypd, igf and mm stay under the 3 fixture, 6 bulb setup (24/0 light period)
5 randoms the the left, 3 pretty ones in the bottom right corner. (smaller because growth was stunted)

Here are the two tallest, both random strains, stringy and stretchy due to lack of nutrients and fluorescence.

VEG ROOM - (24/0)
Green pots are, NYPD, MM, W.widow, P.Haze, and Kabrales
Brown pots are Randoms, NYPD, IGF, and MM

A few portraits of the randoms before putting them into flower... they are clocking in at around 2 feet each (overgrown due to long shipping period of 1000w HPS setup)
