Florida Outdoor - Questions about height restriction and strain variety.

I'm looking to keep 5 or 6 plants on my patio this year. I'm at 27° latitude and my climate is very warm and sunny. I don't want giant plants, just looking to pull an ounce or two per plant. Looking to keep height restricted to 4 feet so that I can maintain some discretion. Are 3 gallon containers going to work out well enough to harvest a healthy small to medium sized plant?

Any strain suggestions that would fare well in this semi-tropical climate would also be appreciated. I realize most sativas will thrive here, but I would much rather find a hearty Indica that could do well here, as I'm looking for a plant that is short in stature and I prefer that heavy couch-lock stone.
