Floraflex air bleed valve problem

Hey all i recently set up a floraflex watering system.. At first it all seemed to work fine then out of nowhere my air bleed valve started kicking out loads of water

I went from maybe 500 ml at most to maybe upto 3000 ml +

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Woah that is a lot. I have a Flora Flex setup with an air bleed and I get some water blown out each time but not much. I've never measured but certainly never more than 50 to 100 ml's. I can't really tell in your picture...Is the air bleed at the very end of the line? I do see that it is higher than your manifolds, which is good. One tip would be to put a party cup over the bleed - it keeps the water from spraying too far out. But 3000 ml's?? Geez...I don't know how or why that would be.

Yeah its a nightmare.. I normally water by hand but ive got a holiday coming up so the plan was get everything set up on a timer get everything automated so i can leave the house for a few days at a time.. The way its running at the min ive got no chance.. If i dont switch the pump off i think all 40liters of feed would drain straight out of the air bleed valve.. Getting a reply off floraflex is near on impossible so im at a loss really

I would check 2 things. #1 - looks like you don’t have any inline filter at the res? , this can cause debris to get stuck inside the air bleed causing it to not close all the way and #2 would be your pump, if clogged / restricted on that end of the system there may not be enough pressure in the system to activate the bleed valve properly causing a bit more water to spill out before engaging? ......

Hey thanks for the reply.. Ive got an inline filter sat in my res just above the pump.. I took that apart yesterday and cleaned the filter so i can rule that out.. You could be right with the pump its self tho.. Ill go give that a good clean out and see if that helps

now that I’m thinking about it even before the issue est 500ml Of blow off? That’s still a lot and makes me think there may be another issue such as clog or even under powered? What pump are you running? Does it have an “inline filter screen” ?
