Hello all!

I have a DWC bucket running right now and I have a few questions to ask if you all don’t mind!

When I add the nuts there is a scum that builds up from the FN. Is this Okay? I added some micro brew from Fox Farm just so I know there are some good guys at work.

Every day when I check the PH it goes up to 8.0ish so I bring it back down to 6.0 and after a few hours it’s at 7.0 and by the end of the day it is above 8.0. this doesn’t sound right to me.

Any help would be nice.

Would anyone know why the PH is going up and why so fast?

Has anyone here grown with just Flora Nova?

Need more info, but clearly there's a problem. What's the water temp; what's the scum look like, is light getting in the res? Something is out of whack. Need to find the root cause and fix it or you'll just be chasing your tail. pH that climbs with scum probably indicates something's growing in there that shouldn't. Regardless, the treatment is roughly the same. Drain it, clean the res, if using a water pump tear it apart, clean it, sanitize it. Sanitize the air stones and air lines (or better yet replace them). Get rid of dead roots, leaves, etc out of the root ball. Refill with pH balanced water first, then add nutes, then add 2 tbsp/gallon 3% hydrogen peroxide, and make sure no garbage can fall in the rez, and no light gets into the rez. Keep root temp below 70, and room temp below 80 and see what happens. Keep root temp down below 70; air temp below 80, and keep light out of the bucket.

With FloraNova, the one part grow and one part bloom, you need to shake the hell out of them before putting it in your water. If you don't, you will not get the full mixture of the nutes in there. At my local shop, there are now notices hanging under the floranova grow and bloom saying this.

I didn’t even think about it but I used the air stone to make a compost tea about two weeks ago. I think that might have a lot to do with it!

Is H2o2 okay to use with For a Nova? Have you seen anyone finish a grow with just the grow & Bloom vhampyre?
I switched out the seedling with a clone, I’m hopping its healthier..

@ Ponicengineer, I shack the hell out of it every time! another good thing to do with FN is to put your measured ferts into a gallon judge half full of water an shack it to mix it.
