Ok so how many times a day do i flood?
How long is the flood for each time?
How do you set up a drain system with a timer? (equipment needed? etc..)
Basicly is how do i make it so it will flood and drain itself automaticly?
-From your pump startup to total drain, 15minutes every 8 hours.
-digital timer, pump, air bubbler(to keep your res airated).
-I adjust the drainsize in the bed until the pump is pumping the water into the bed faster than the drain is draining. Have it so the bed is full of water(up to the top of the gravel) at about 12-13 minutes and have the timer so it kicks out about then so the water will go out the drain and back into the res. Make sure there is no pooling water left in your bed. Maximum flood time before damage to the roots, 30 minutes. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Of course you know that this system is for lava rock and clay gravel.
