you've got one of the worst iv'e ever heard of. can't believe that even the SAG didn't stop it.
Didn't even help I don't think. Not surprised though I'm just lucky like that lol.

Thinking maybe the competition was too much. Hoping that if I nuke them with the sterile route first and than bring in the troops(bennies) after that it might be more successful.

what are your water temps? and definitely no light leaks or anything like that?

Last I checked it was 68f. I know a little cooler would be better but this is as low as I can get it without adding a chiller or something.
when i used my chiller, i set it at 68F.

check out aquarium supply store online for a submersible UV light. they arent' much money. between that and peroxide/chlorine, nothing should survive.

So just went downstairs to check in on my veg stuff and happy to report things are actually looking really good, root and plant wise now. Might have to hold off on that sterile plan for the time being until I see a reason not too.

Man this sure has been a roller coaster of ups and downs. Looking great right now but how will they look in the morning?...To be continued lol.

My water levels are starting to get low and I'm almost afraid to top off or change. Water is super clear again and plants and roots are thriving again. Hate to fuck with it now. Last res change i did completely destroyed all progress with in 48 hrs.

following along with root rot myself, going the sterile route though instead of bennies.

got a bottle of SAG sitting here ready to dump in based on your results.

pics??

Oh dude, don't make any decisions based on my results lol. My results have been massively mixed so far to say the least and I'm still in mid battle tbh.

With that being said if you're battling root rot than you obviously need to try something. Try the sag and see if it works. If it doesn't try something else.

Feel free to post your progress here though(good or bad). Some very knowledgeable people here, who are extremely helpful.

I couldn't say for sure if the sag has helped me or not but I'm very thankful for the help, support and advice I've received from the people in this thread.

Also just want to drop a quick reminder about not dumping bennies in with sterile. It's one or the other.

For sure, here's a pic of what I walked into 4 days ago.

Been using uc roots/h2o2 since then.

Here's a pic from today:

Wondering if this progress is fast enough. People say they see hydroguard/sag results in 2-3 days with new roots exploding out of the rot roots. Not sure if they're exaggerating or not.

Did yours clear up at all? Saw your initial pics but haven't seen anything since then.

Curious to see your progress / timeline to know how long it takes to clear up.

Cheers for the great thread, nice to read about others experience.

Edit- won't let me post links I need one more like on my post lol

Pics aren't working. Took me a few times as well lol.

K I'll snap/post some more pics tomorrow. Based on what I'm seeing this evening I'm starting to think providing more oxygen to my roots might of been the key for myself.

Everyone's situation is different though so you may need to fart around with it a bit.

Little more info on my plants, in week 6 veg
Mine was way, way worse than that. In fact my mothers still are. You still have hope lol.

Bottom line is you need to try something different than what you're doing right now.
I have a few plants that look a bit worse.

This one looks like this after 4 days of uc roots. H2o2 drain/refill

http://imgur.com/Qr7knEs

Just wondering if it looks like new roots are coming in white or that's just wishful thinking. Not sure if the old brown roots will change back to white.

People who used hydroguard say theirs does so idk. I'm running sterile though.

Trying to see what someone running Bennies gets results wise and the timeline. I was told by a guy at the hydro store to give it two weeks to recover. I've only been treating it for 4 days so far. Never had rot like this before so I'm unsure what the recovery timeline looks like.

Cheers for sharing all the info

It's so tough to say. I know exactly where you're coming from. I've gone from seeing what looked like the path of recovery to being to completely eaten up by rot shortly after.

Bennies certainly won't hurt though. But maybe try to think about the source of why it survives, spreads and etc. Maybe water temps too high? Maybe not enough oxygen? Maybe something else?

It's tough bro, wish I had a more direct answer for ya.

@R.Raider

Thx for the pics. Def seeing some white coming out of some, nice.

What day of the battle are you on? Running sag and pirhanna?
I can't remember. I think 2-3 weeks. I've had set backs though. Things were starting to come along like this a week ago and then i did a res change and all my progress was lost in 48hrs.

Yes sag, piranha and changed up from dwc to aero.

Update: So last couple days roots are taking a turn for the worst again.

While brainstorming yesterday I was trying to think of how I could create an environment that it makes it tough for pythium to survive in.

I know pythium hates oxygen so i decided to add a fan on a speed controller to my root area, just to see what happens.

Crude I know lol, but interested to see how things turn out over the next few days. I have my water pump timer set for 5min on 15min off. Trying to aim to have it come on when my roots are just moist(not too wet, not too dry). See what happens I guess.
