Fixing root rot: Hydroguard v Southern Ag Garden Friendly Fungicide

the smelll of the actual stuff or after it's in the res?

i think it has a sweetish smell in the bottle.
I just started using it Saturday, I have about 4ml in a new 25 gallon system. I swear it smells like a fish tank. Was really hoping that's how this stuff makes a res smell. I don't know how my water could be putting off that smell already, it's only been 5 days.

Edit..... I just went and smelled my res. The smell is gone. Smells like it should, only smelled like that for a couple days after adding SAG. I'm just going to assume this stuff just smells like that. Maybe the smell is when the bacillus are attacking something?

Darn, I don't have an internet meme.
I do have this test report though!
Sorry I don't have it laced with spinosad but I have been legal since the 90's and shit has to test clean.
Extra points if you guess the strain.

Gota pic to go with that test reading? Just curious what 26.8 product looks like. What type of light?

And what exactly is wrong with D747? It's over 2,600 times more concentrated (.038 × 2,601 = 98.85).

That means that 1 to 1, the Hydroguard strain is over 2,600 times more effective than the SA-D747 strain? Even though they are the same species?

This seems very contradictory. I could possibly see a 15% increase in a mutated gene but 260,000% is a little hard to postulate.

Furthermore, this has already been touched on, but providing a sample test result by its lonesome is irrelevant to any point. We need to see at least 2 tests, with at least you saying they are the same strain and with you at least saying the conditions were identical. Then we could at least bicker on whether you were lying about your statements or not, but only one test is definitive of nothing.

that could be. maybe your smelling the crap of the good bacteria after eating the bad?

i grow with DTW waterfarms so i just shoot 1mL into them once a week. i don't put it in my actual res that i feed the waterfarms with.

Yeah I've got a little frankenstien-UC going. I set up a 2 x 4 for my personal stash. It's a 27 gallon tote, and two 5 gallon buckets. The bucket closest to the door is my control bucket that I take reading from and top off, etc..... I'll be adding more SAG Tuesday, I'll make sure to post if the smell comes back when I add more.

i run a kelp/humic powder in mine so that's kinda the smell that i get. probably drowns out the SAG

I run mega crop. All in one, it has that stuff too. Maybe there's a couple things contributing to the smell. In gonna go ask around in the MC thread.
I tried MC for a bit. My pH instability was unbelievable and unpredictable. Had to go back to MaxiBloom.

It took 2 days for my ph to stabilize at 5.8, over the next three days it's up to 6.0. Not bad, but I'm watching it very close because I don't know what to expect.

that's what mine did too. set at 5.8 ish, would go up to the mid 6's then would drop like a rock to low 5's.

i've got my system set up where i can go away for a week without problems and those nutes didn't fit into the program for me.

Good to know, I'll be watching closely to see what happens. I wonder if their new formula had the same issue? It's still early for many reports on it though.

The smell should be kind of "Earthy." No worries. It gets really strong in my cucumber tanks when the water temps move towards the 90's.

I can't wait until my stuff gets here. Too bad they just don't sell it here in Canada. Would make things a whole lot easier, not to mention cheaper. So far the h2o2 has done little, if anything at all.

After sitting back and watching for the last few days, I'm sure I'm good to go. 90° is pretty warm, you growing outdoors?

Yes. Dealing with some bad root rot issues. Ordered up some "Southern Ag Garden Friendly Fungicide". Praying this is my savior lol.
SAG seems to work pretty good, hopefully it does good for you too. I'm not sure how it works on root rot vs keeping it at bay. I'm sure there's someone around that does.
