why not put fish into like a hydro setup
dwc or something. like no nutrients or chemicals just fishys
Like mentioned above hydro and fish have different ph, you need to meet in the middle, you also need some type of bio filter to convert the nitrates the fish produce to nitrites so plants can absorb them as nutrients.

well no not really, im sure the more common and hardy fish can survive just fine in water suited to marijuana growing. so long as theres no chemicals. yeah theres fish out there that require specific ph levels but most are really good at coping. and as for "some kind of biofilter" theres thousands of adaptable models of bio filtration out there. ever make one of those model ecosystems out of two liter bottles in elementary school with the soil plants and bugs on top and the water and fish below?

Actually most fish require a specific higher PH than marijuana in hydro(5.5-5.8) although there are some fish that prefer a more acidic ph, most fish will suffer health problems with improper PH, yeah i know about biofilters i was referring to the question about putting fish straight into DWC, because there is no media to filter it, the nutrients wont be converted for the fish, plus they would be cramped i would think with the roots.

No my school must have sucked. That actually sounds cool, got any more details on this little ecosystem?

eh i dont even test the ph in my tanks i just wing it and theyve done fine. maybe cheap fish too i think the real problem would be fish munching down on the roots. or even i have these dumb frog things uhh african clawed frogs i think theyre called and the shit a bunch but they dont have teeth and i dont think they are capable of eating roots and i know from about two years of neglect that these frogs are invincable, they dont need light ph never bothered them and they only eat a few frog pellet things a day, i keep them in my aquarium cause they eat up the krill on the bottom before it rots and theyre shit helps build that beneficial bacteria base
