I have read of 13 people taking a swim so far this year with 3 or 4 fatalities. You really gotta check every step wjth the spud. The guys that went on on timber had been fishing there all day the day before, and got a little too comfortable I think.

My homie just called me from Lake Gogebic and said he has 10 inches of ice. He got a pike and a shorty walleye before he could get his second hole drilled. Called me an hour later and had 2 keeper eyes on tip ups and suckers and 3 more pike jigging. Getting his fair share of dink walleyes too. I know its not ice fishing but heres some pics from the fall salmon run and a good day on Gogebic.

Hit the ice this afternoon. I got out about 3 till dark. It was nice to get out, really nice. I kept 13, threw back a ton.
The weather forcast looks awful. Last year, there was one day that was ok to get out, and I missed it. This year, I went, even though there was so little ice. The place was busy for a little lake, it was obvious that people didn't want to miss out on the possible one and only day if we lose all the ice down here again.

Nice fish bowful! I only ended up with one big crappie on a jigging rap which I was pretty proud of lol. Might try and get out for a second tmrw now that I found an ok spot. Neighbor said he got some 18+ in crappies there last nite.

My friend just got back. 35 fish from 730 am to 5 pm. all pike and walleye. Most undersized but he got his five walleye over 15. Only reason he stopped was he ran out of bait. Probably going to have to check it out in the morning. Said solid 10 inches of ice but was pretty slushy in spots. If you need I've got some gps coords that are pretty solid.

I caught 5 fish yesterday. 3 keepers. 30 guys out on the lake, 3" of ice. Lots of lookers but they just didn't want to bite.

I get 2 filets off each side plus the top filet(backstrap? lol), never had a bone yet. But anytime I bring up pike people seem to think they are full of bones.

Ive fillet'd my pike that way but it wastes some meat.. Id rather pick bones..

Niiice. I would try em like that. If the missus got a bone I don't think I would ever get her to eat fish again. Not sure why a fish bone is so much more repulsive than a chicken bone lol.

I feed my wife the blugill fillets and keep the pike to myself haha..

I don't do catfish, never had any lucky catching them and never really ate any either, except for some nasty ass nuggets at a chinese shop lol.

Haha the north end is my place. I fished the north end of Gogebic almost everyday since may, I only live 25 min away. If you'll be out Sunday I'll be out in front of the walleye lodge, maybe we can get together for a frabil shack bake. Tell Tim at the timbers cdet says hello. Just saw you'd be here mon and tues, I've got about 10 hot spots gpsed in the north end, if you have trouble getting on fish let me know, I'll send you over to spot 12.

Actually I just booked it for Tues and Wed. They got the cc numbers so it's a go. This weekend is going to be really nice, but Belle will be downstate so I cannot get away.
