Fish On!

That is what you would think. I am south of jackson and the ice is not safe but people are eager. Concord mill pond and portage lake have been fished to name a couple.

Damn nice pike and the perch look just as tasty. We have had people fishing on the ice right by the dam for over a week now...I think they are crazy every time. But this thread is going to leave me itching all winter for open water next spring! Not good for a fishing addict

I checked Grass lake in Jackson county on saturday and had 2.5inches, haven't seen anyone out there yet but it will be any day now for sure.

Good to hear kindone. I go crazy without fishing. Just got into ice fishing, which is good, gives me something to look forward to besides spring.

I hear ya fattie I am a bass fisherman in the blood, I used to fish alot of tournaments a few years back and hopefully will get the old boat tourney ready for the local circuit in the spring. I don't know much about ice fishing except that its better than being inside all winter.

We got on the ice this weekend also, thin ice, but stayed safe and had fun. buncha dinks around my spots right now.

A truck on this early ice? Darwin award right there man.

I checked out my local haunts today, looks ready but no ones' been out there yet. I'll be on the ice this weekend though. Gonna get my rods re-strung and tip ups redone today............

My buddy hit a lake next to Whitmore Lk today, he was the first out there, and said there was only 2.5 inches of ice in the spot. He's 240 lbs and still went out and fished, alone...killed em' too. He said the crappies were like rocket ships hitting stacked up spikes at 6 ft down in a 12 ft deep area.

I got a report that the marinas and shallow bay areas on Lk Huron are doing well on perch already, so we're talking about going next weekend.
