First timr grower long time toker

Hi

I am running a new setup have a 1.2m x 1.0m grow area
Have a 400w growlux light, 150mm inline extractor fan for taking air out.
oscilating fan, Nylar on the walls. it is in my basement concelaed so its pretty dark during "sleeping hours" I have had some test runs as my clones are in another grow box under a Luminate light in a clone chamber to get humidity and heat up. I have done test runs on my grow box which currently is between 24-26º c (75-78ºF) and humidity running at between 45%-47%. what do you think. I heard 50-60% humidity is the recommended??? any thoughts

also for this area what is the recommended amount of plants to gow in this space?

Thats a big space for a 400W, you might want to use just part of it.

To raise humidity just put humidity domes (plastic bottles with the top cut off placed upside down) when needed or add a few plates of water.
Raising humidity is easy - lowering it is a pain.

For seedlings you want 80-85% RH (relative humidity), for veg you want 60-70% for advanced veg and start of flowering you want 40-50% and for flowering you want 30% or less. (you can grow some awesome buds in 5% RH during advanced flowering!)

The amount of plants is up to the style you grow. The more plants you grow the shorter the veg time you would need to fill the room but the more work you will have tending them.

when they start to show a deficiency.
at least 10", but as big as you want them to. depends on your style of growing.

ok things are going real good with my new babies

have started water cycle with 200ml every second day (mornings)

adding 100ml of growzilla nutrient mix with 100ml of water (bottled) so diluting mix at present...

will wait until they get a lil bigger before i add 200ml of nutrient mix every other water

Does this sound ok???

Humidity/ temp is fine.

any thoughts?????????

If they look fine you'r doing fine.

Whats that growzilla thing?

with pictures its much easier to tell how your plants are doing.

Looking good. Leaves look great no spotting. First 2 pictures show a bit of stretching. Try to lower the lamp as close as you can get it without burning the leaves.

coolio bro :)

do u mean what time of day or when in the cycle? i normaly try to take about an hour after lights on but i'm not sure it matters? i take my clones just before flipping to 12.12. that way the girl is nice and big and dont miss an arm lol. you can take from anytime around 3-4 weeks from seed, or rooted clone. these are only rough workings, it depends on ur setup really bro and how big u want the clones.

i've had some girls from seed under a 250mh for just over 3 weeks, should be able to take a cutting in about week or so to give an example. i've topped it though and i'm going to wait for the arms to grow so i can take my clones from them. also depends on the size of the cutting. u want them healthy enough so they can take being savaged lol

At the moment im vegeing under a 400w

Im wanting to do the flowering under a 600w in a new space.

Will this shock the plants???
Will they grow faster??
Will my flowering period be less??

cool bro, i'm no expert but i can try to help you on ur way, ur half way there :)

Will this shock the plants???
nope so long at the temperature drop isnt to much between rooms i.e more than 10oc (i go from a 250mh to a 600hps)

Will they grow faster??
yes of course my friend ;) 600w hps supposedly gives out not quite but nearly double the lumens (very debatable) and is better value for money per watt (fact).

Will my flowering period be less??
no i'm afraid no tricks are really been proven to shorten flowering times

hope this helps?

edit - fire it up, fire it up, FIRE IT UP!!!!

mint just what i wanted to hear well nearly, cutting down on the flowering would have been even better.

so is the vege and flowering periods about the same time???
say 6 weeks each cycle?

in general the vegging period is dependant on how big u want ur girls, i use horizontal screens (SCROG) and to fill the screens takes about 6 weeks. if you just left a lady to her own with no topping then 6 weeks would be far to long indoors. depends also on ur setup, lights, hight of room etc. roughly 2-6 weeks veg.

flowering is also a debatable subject. i find the most accurate way of timing flowering is from the day you flip to 12.12. some people do it from the day the "flowers" start showing which can be 1-2 weeks.

most strains are 8-10 weeks with the sativas (haze etc) can go upto 16 weeks 12.12!!!

stop by my journal and flip to the end, the biggest girl (lemon)was vegged for over 6 weeks (rooted clone) but the smaller one at the back was only about 3 from seed(k-train).

edit - a rough guide to how much you want to veg is to bear in mind that the plant in roughly going to finish two thirds taller from when you flip to 12.12 (its commonly called the stretch). all the growth above the screen on my lemon was during the 2 weeks stretch,
