First Timer Looking for a bit of advice on his Grow!!!

Hello there everyone. I just recieved my setup today in the post and was just looking for a bit of advice. First here is a list of everything...

• Dark Room (s) 0.8m x 0.8m x 1.6m Light Proof Tent
• 250w Philips hps Euro Grow Light System
• 100mm rvk Fan, cf160 Carbon Filter Extraction Kit (10m of Flexible Ducting)
• Inc Easy Rollers, Duct Clips & Power Lead
• Silver Mylar, Metal Poles, Ground Sheet.

Hopefully I will have my feminised medusa seeds and top44 soon. Actually I ordered them from Nirvana the other week and i am concerned that they are taking a long time to arrive. if anyone could shed some light on why this may be it would be great. Anyhows I only have the 250 w hps and i was wondering if it would work out ok if I had it on 12/12 from seed. I have heard of people doing this especially for SOG but Id just like to hear your opinions on this. I am only new to Growing but Id like to get this as right from the start as I can. Any help is much appreciated. Thank You.

I ordered from nirvana about 8 business days ago. I heard they take a bit. like 12-15days some people say! so Im not sure. I get worried too but Im sure they'll arrive!

anyways, to your questions. i personally wouldnt 12/12 them from seed. let them veg for 2-3weeks. until desired height (taking into account that the height will double or tripple when you flower, so do the math for your space and make sure you wont outgrow it! remember to exclude the amount of space your light takes up)

I flowered mine when they hit 10-15 inches (they all varied in size). but vegging before hand will do a lot of good and increase your yield. you'll be much happier in the end.

make sure you use good nutes too!

you seem to know your stuff so i think ill go with that. the 250w hps is the only bulb I have for a while though. do you think it will be ok if i veged with that for 2-3 weeks??? im thinking maybe 6 plants. thats a square foot per plant approximately in my grow tent..

might be okay for the first 2-3 weeks of the grow but i would definitely upgrade. hps is usually used for flowering stage. I am using Metal Halide my entire grow. I think you should probably at least go up to 400w if you're going to grow about 6 plants. but read your ballast first. they usually only support 1 wattage so if thats the case then you wont be able to use anything but a 250w without having possible fire hazards!

Hi for c of green u really need to veg them for at least 2 weeks under M/H and not top them. C of greeen is really best for copious amounts of small (12") plants. In ur case i would veg em for 3 weeks prehaps under a 250w flourecent (blue) 18/6 if a MH is out of ur reach and then make use of ur 250w sodium 12/12 and like superhighme says use some good nutes. But sorry to say u will prehaps only some "loose bud" because of ur lighting. Oh and dont rush the veg stage.....give it a go, all the best
