I will get some pics soon. The largest plant wo cross sections of growth.is about 7" tall and is on its sixth cross secti and RIU. These pics were taken recently. The plants were "born" 11/23. Have ran into problems with little rust colored spots appearing on the first set of fan leaves on three plants.

I am usuing four 20 watt ott lites (wall mounted) and one 17 watt ott lite tube. Right now I am using a 20 hour light 4 hour dark cycle.

I water when the first three to four inches of the upper layer of soil are dry, about once every three to four days. I let tap water sit out before watering. Every other watering I feed the plants with miracle grow, diluted at 1/2 teaspoon per twp quarts of water. My soil ph is around 6.4-6.8

I am worried that the spots are going to spread and become an issue. I tried cutting off the fan leaves in question but the spots spread upward to the next set of leaves. Any general comments as well as specific feedback regarding lights, soil, nutes, water, etc., would be much appreciated.

Note: the largest plant shown has no spots. Only three out of 8.[/CODE]

try getting some proper nutes other than miracle grow. i find that stuff does nothing or actually hurts your plants.

Easy to burn your plants with MG would'nt put it on anything but a shelf.................Watering schedule and ph are fine.........since none of your other plants have the same problem its probably not nute burn ...which is a miracle no pun intended.....go to wal-mart get a bottle of gardensafe fungicide#3 kills several types of fungus incuding rust and pesky insects...about $4.00 some of the best money i've ever spent........hope this helps.......and keep us updated.........

thanks guys i will get right on this and update as appropriate.

another question i have: i am thinking of getting light setup with an 400 watt MH bulb and a 600 watt HPS. I would use the MH for veg and the HPS for budding. thoughts? what kind of light setup has proven successful for you?

i have done a lot of reading but lack the practical knowledge (wisdom) of the experienced grower.

went and got the pest product at walmart. i assume to just apply it as directed, but i would like to confirm this first auto?

I want to clarify something about my last post. The lights I describe would be in one unit with a seperate on/off switch for the MH and HPS bulbs. Found a nice little unit online for about 600 US. I am also thinking about adding a nice t5 with blue light spectrum to compliement the MH for vegging and a red spectrum one to go along with the HPS light during flowering. anyone have an opinion?

Once i figure out how to post pictures (my only internet access is from my new G1 and it wont work off this, site says uploading from this source not allowed) I will upload from 2 weeks into vegging all the way up until where I am at that point and until a harvest! RIU is such a cool site a am excited to have my own complete and comprenhensive grow journal! I can connect a USB cable from my G1 to a friends computer though, at least thats what he said...So look forward to a bunch of pics this weekend! Take care and happy smoking!!

Yeah...just make sure you mist the underside of the leaves, and the soil, top side of leaves of course, You can also spritz it aroun your grow area it will kill the gnats it comes in contact with....keep us updated Bro........Oh make sure your lights are off or the droplets could magnify the light and burn spots on your leaves........

So I am down to three plants through personal choice. I just don't want a lot. Makes me paranoid. I have no intention of selling one stem, stick, or ick so I just don't need 6-8 plants for my needs!!!!

SO the pics shown are of my three remaining keepers. You may notice a clone or two on there, those are experimental.

For the sake of simplicity, let me quickly let you know what I got...Plants #1 and #2 are the same strain (bagseed). Plant #3 is a different strain than #1 and #2, also bagseed.

Plant #1 is by far doing the best. Both it and #2 are heavy indica dominant strains, at least by looking at the leaves! #3 I am not so sure about. It looks spindly and just gross to me.

In order, here is a description of each pic so you know what's what :)

Pic 1 = Plant #1 from the top

Pic 2 = Plant #1 from the side

Pic 3 = Plant #2 from the top

Pic 4 = Plant #3 from the top

Pic 5 = My plants left to right. #2, #1, #3

Pic 6 = Leaf discoloration with plant #1

Pic 7 = Leaf discoloration with plant #2

Pic 8 = Leaf discoloration with plant #1 overlapping #2.

Please gimmiw some feedback folks!! Thanks alot!

You see the slightly lighter color of green? Just doesn't look very lush like the rest of the leaves in some places? Anyone know what that is?

Also in the pics of plant #2 leaf discoloration, notice a reddish-orangish-brownish hue to the leaf. Anyone guess what it is now that they have some empirical evidence? THANKS!!! GROW BIG!!!

You can grow a six pack of buds light, I think.

So If i pour the Bud light into the res will I grow drunk pot.. cause Im really interested in maybe getting an aerogarden..
i have a drunk uncle ,, Clyde his name is and he has a Cfl light in the bathroom of his trailer,, could I just put aerogarden on the toilet seat and leave the light on for 1/2 a day, he leaves a swig or two in all his cans ..I can use them right

Ok ya jacked my thread....so what about the plants? Any feedback vette?

Thanks gypsy for confirming for me that HTG is the way to go! What are the tangible result differences betweek a 400 and 600 watt system? Do you recommend MH for vegging? Rep+

HTG is deff. the way to go, in my opinion...

I am not sure what the diff would be... but I assure you there is one...:o

I went for the 600 because I wanted a 400...

Everything I thought would make me happy, I went one step up...

And I am very happy with that decision...

Should I want to move out of the tent and into a bigger grow, I have everything I need...

I don't need to upgrade jack.. and the tent is like it's on steroids... 19.000 lumens per square foot... or 120 watts/sqft

As for the MH, it depends on what you are doing, I vegg moms and root clones with T5s, and then go to flower under the HPS as soon as there are roots...

No MH in my world... but for heavy vegg, most deff. use one, I would even mix it up HPS + MH...

Hope this helps...

Cheers...:weed:
