should i move the feeder tube now, or wait until a little more growth? thanks all

Make sure you block the light from the feeder tubes and hydroton. You can get algae. Use foam plates to make little covers for your net pots but cut a hole in the middle for the sprout.

things are looking good this morning. 4/6 sproats have cracked the surface. 3 are showing the beginning of leaves, on 1 the seed capsule is above the surface on the sproat, is this normal?

the seed pod one has grown another 1/4" or so in a few hours! so the leaves should come out of the pod soon? i'm worried it's going to get too high and snap off

you worry too much.

If it is getting enough light, it will not stretch to the light.

if it does, you put a empty toilet paper tube around it, until it strenghtens.

cool. I'm going to relax, and try my best with patience (not my greatest virtue) and trust they want to live and thrive. thanks again Roseman

I've had those seed pods hang on for 3 or 4 days with no bad effects. Resist the urge to remove by hand. At some point you'll need a fan to blow in the general direction of the res to move those stems around to strengthen them but not now. They're just babies.

When you start the nutes. That would be when you have 4 true leaves. Little round edged one's they are using to crack that seed don't count.

hey macinnis, give the plants some time to grow and think of them like a weekly show. Do your daily checks and so on but compare say thursdays for instance. This thursday there are some sprouts, next thursday some leaves, the following maybe a couple inches. You have a good 100 plus days before they get close to finishing. You really won't see stuff every hour or day so you gotta work on that patience. Some days will show more growth then others. Best of luck with the grow, good to see sprouts and have fun watching them grow.:weed::weed:

First 4 leafer should be fine. The rest should be close. Do it at 1/4 strength to give them just a taste. Do it during a res change. No use feeding a full course meal to the babies.

Man you seriously need to gently push it down in th RW exposing less of the taproot with the seed sitting close to the top of the RW.

thanks for the advice, I was wondering about that. I cracked open the RW and moved it so the sprout was close to the top and the root was more buried in it than replaced back in the system

as of this morning I have 5 sprouts with the 1st set of real leaves starting to grow. Four of them look strong and healthy, 1 looks weak compared to the others but it's still green for now, so I misted it a bit. We'll see if that helps?
