I’ve grown many times with cfl and got a good amount of experience with them. A ten day old seedling only needs a few of those 23;waters. Three of them max. Keep the bulbs within 4-5 inches for now.

Thread ended so I assume you nuted your seedling to death based on what you shared. A baby seedling in soil that has nutes in it is fine for a while. Don’t go adding bottle nutes until you notice the first signs of deficiency until you learn that soil mix you are in. Wait until lowest set of leaf starts to fade is how I can tell.

No lol I don’t know how everyone thought I was trying to add nutes if you read everything I said micro bloom isn’t really a nute and is recommended on seedlings using fox farm soil...it’s ultra diluted worm castings, and kelp based on memory. I actually had nitrogen deficiency less than a week after I started this post looking for an answer about lighting (thanks for your first reply)

Just fox farms ocean forest is a bit hot for seedlings imo. Ocean forest certainly wouldn’t need anything added for a seedling. Totally unnecessary. Guess I wasn’t paying attention to it being micro bloom. Probably couldn’t hurt but doubt it helps

I used to keep a good fan breeze blowing across lights and tops of plants. This grow here stayed 80s to mid 80s. On plants this size like in my pics..18- 20” tall, I like to keep a minimum of 4 of the 28;watt bulbs above each plant. 6 is better. It’s good to get a bulb or two per plant for side lighting. Not totally necessary but really adds to weight and density

The buds on those plants were as dense as a lot of hps buds I’ve smoked. 5-6 gram colas dried. People get bad cfl yields cause they don’t blast them hard enough with light. You’re having heat issues so you already know just to get as much light possible to them with keeping them at reasonable temps. I like to keep mine close enough to light that sometimes the air movement from the fan will blow the tip of the top fan leaves into the bulbs. After veg and stretch that isnt an issue. Burns them a touch. How are your bulbs set up? Are you using y adaptors and having multiple bulbs per socket?

I have 2 hoods hung vertical just growing one plant, one on each side. 3 sockets each hood with the y adapters. I have 6 23watt cfls two of them hung above the plant separate from the hoods. Been adding leds with the covers off, I have 8 of those filling out the rest of the hoods those are 14 watts. Have a fan blowing across the top also.

Here is a link to my journal if you want to check it out nothing fancy mind you. https://www.rollitup.org/t/helio-ogk-grow-journal.983445/

God damn that’s a lot of light for one plant. I bet it does get hot and you wouldn’t need to keep the lights as close as I do. You growing a tree? Lol. Jk. I’ll have to go check the journal now

Ya it should do alright if I can maintain power and not have any more problems with my heater, temps dropped to 48 3 nights ago she is a bit droopy still. Definitely not a tree lol she is 17”, flipped to 12/12 last Tuesday. Anyhow here is my rinky dink setup, left room in my hoods to add another socket just in case.
