Just made my very own areoponic cloning machine.

NOW...........Does anyone know how to use one?

I have cloned before in humidity domes but never in a cloning machine. I just have some basic questions.

Do you use nutes?

Do you use cloning gel.

I have some olivias nutes. can i put that in the water?

+rep for some good in depth answers

you dont have to add nutes. just use good quality water an PH it every three days. I have a PC 25 site cloner and Ive found that dipping your cuttings a little longer in gel works better than any 50 dollar bottle of solution. the only thing i add to my water is vitamin B1 and just follow the directions on the bottle. it just makes your plant healthier:) Throw you an air stone in and your clones will root in about 7 or 8 days. Gel is way better than powder. make sure you dip your cuttings in the gel ASAP after you cut it off the plant so no air can get in the stem and stunt growth. do not dip your cutting in the gel jar, always take the amount you will need out and seperate it so you do not infect your future cuttings. just in case. hope this helps. Good Luck !!!!

check ur temps in that res often. the heat from the pump will raise water temps. you need to put it on a timer, 1 minute on 4 minutes off, caps makes a great 1 min. on 4 min off timer. sarch it out on google. they cost $40. i use plain water, once they get roots you can or may need to add nutes, but i get em in soil soon as they root. you can actually finish the plants in ur tub using the aero, just keep em nuted through the grow. you dont need to use gel. have fun!:bigjoint:

I use plain water. I dont check my water temp. Takes an average of 10 days to have enough roots to plant in soil. I change the water every 2 weeks. Ill use H2o2 @ 1ml/gl if I think they need it but they usually dont. Good luck!

so what is an optimum temp?
what is too hot?
should i use a humidity dome?
Distilled, RO, Or Tap Water? (tap water is 100 ppm)
What should the ph be? (i grow in soil but i know its a lil different with hydro)

when i said temps, i meant make sure its not too hot. if you don't put ur pump on a timer, the water temp will rise and your cuts will be shit. check and make sure you don't have a sauna.

My cloning bin is comprised of, a piece of plywood for a shelf. A clear plastic garbage bag(to make a mini greenhouse), 80w's of cool white flouresent, some tumbtacks, tape and some wire for suspensions. I always put a single layer of clay gravel or any clean gravel for the clones to sit on inside the bin. 1" 1/2" hole at the lowest point for air and drainage. This will work just as well and with a lot less expense. Use a #2 powdered rooting agent for semi-hardwood. 2"X2"X3" Rockwool cubes. Place the light on the ceiling and put your shelf about 2/3 of the way up a standard wall. Be practical.
