So,I got a blue mystic seed from a friend, did a lil looking around on how to use rock wool.now I have the 1 inch cube kept damp with the seed in since last sunday.its kept damp with a light mixture of big bloom (soil formula?)not to sure if I'm doing more harm then good but she hasnt sprouted yet.I keep the cube in a bowl with center raised to just keep wet the bottom and let the minerals fall. Its outside by the way gets plenty of sun and shade in equal amounts through out the day.I haven't posted in a while but I started a Jock Horror back in January and results came little slow but she is taking off now!I will have pics up soon and I also have three reggie plants the same age, pics will come soon as well.Well any advice for my blue mysic will would really help,

Thanx in advance,Zombie

With rockwool you should water lightly once or twice a day to get the cube damp but not soaked... 20-25grams is what the cube should weigh wet and then you should let it get close to dry before re-watering. Overwatering rockwool is the most common problem with it.

Also, you should not feed any nutrients to the plants during germination. They do not have roots to take up these anyway. Typically you should wait until their 2nd set of leaves to feed them.

If you have the cube in a bowl of nute water it is probably too wet.NLXSK1 is spot on with wet weight for the cubes. get a scale and weigh them untill you get a feel for how the keep them just right.

When I do new ones with cubes, I dip the cubes into 1/4 strength grow solution. Once they're getting roots in the 1" cubes, I presoak 3" cubes in the same solution for 30 minutes and put the small cube into the 3" The soaking allows it to stay good and wet for the few days before I plant them into hydroton.

ok,so no nutes at this time.and I do have a point scale which the cubes are wieghing in at about 25 grams each.is it possible to leave the plant in that small of a cube, just asking cause I hear you can.can't get rock wool where I'm at,friend of mine got it in another state.also,is it very nessessary to keep the water circulated or am I ok with changing the water?I have the three bottles of fox farm nutes:big bloom, grow big and tiger bloom. Can I use these as nutes in straight water after watering them down?I'm asking if these are good even though its the soil formula.
