I just got done with my first harvest, and I was trimming over a span of 4 days or so, cutting the smaller plants first, and letting the bigger ones dry out in that time (still alive), to reduce risk of mold. My tent is small, and vented with a 6" inline fan, and I also have two cage fans inside the tent (clip on), and have never seen any sign of mold. The first plant to get trimmed was monday night, and by friday night, the stems were mostly snaping, but the buds were dry on the outside with a bit of resistance on the inside (not too wet and spongy like they were when fresh). I have been smoking the popcorn for the past few days and letting the tops (in a separate jar) cure, burping every 4-7 hours for 15 minutes or so and moving the buds around in the jar. The other plants (still drying) are all from different days last week, meaning they should theoretically be dry 5-7 days from the original day of trimming correct? (pending size, etc) Having been reading up on mold, and other issues I worry I may have snipped the branches with those bigger colas (from monday) too soon and risk a chance of mold. I just inspected a few of the colas with my scope, and everything looks dandy. I have seen a ton of good bud, and there are no imperfections that I can obviously see. The temps in this room are 68-75 degrees, leaving a perfect 78 in my tents. My dry box is in this room which the inline clears every 6-8 minutes i assume. Hopefully someone can let me know if I jumped the gun and (monday night to friday night) is not enough time for drying in my current conditions. I pointed one of the smaller fans at the string about 5 feet away for a day or two, and realized that was not a good idea. The bud that is in my jars was cut when the grassy smell (gasses expelling) was gone, so I think I am OK. Let me know.
